Altxorra rubbed her forehead with her paw, wincing, before looking up at her father. The noise he made had her worriedly look towards the rest of her family. She wasn’t up to sharing Zerrin’s attention at this time, after all.
”Shhh, daddy you’ll wake them!” she whispered to him frantically, but nodding to let him know she was alright. Quietly, she picked her way closer, giving him a large eyed look that she hoped would work. ”Can we go walking? I can’t sleep,” she told him, pouting.
She definitely didn’t think her headbutt would hurt that bad, either. Alt tilted her head, pouting, tail flicking for a moment. ”Are… are you okay?” she asked unsurely.

She didn’t want to look up at the sky. She wanted to run, to feel the wind, to explore the night. But sighing, she sat and looked up at the sky with him. What he said confused her, because it was very much not like what her papa said. ”Papa says that the stars are cowards and that pebbles are better anyways,” she said with a shrug, summing up their conversation in the way she understood it. ”Maybe I should collect some pebbles for him later… he seems to like them.” Much of what Bast’ion had said went over her head. There was a meaning she was supposed to get, she knew. But… she didn’t know what.
At Zerrin’s question, she shrugged again. ”No where special. We don’t ever get to explore when everyone’s asleep. I thought it’s got to be exciting, being the only ones having an adventure.”

”Cowards, stars are cowards. Daddy, weren’t you listening to me?” she asked with a disgruntled look, shaking her head to mimic the disappointment adults sometimes did. ”You’re supposed to listen, y’know,” she told him with a dramatic shy.
However, her fake disappointment was completely diminished when he agreed to have an adventure with her. And excitement mounted at finding treasure. In fact, she was now expecting to find treasure. ”Alright! Let’s find treasure!” she hooted, before trotting off in a random direction. Towards where she thought water was, actually. Maybe they could find a pretty and glittery pebble.
A root caught her foot and she yelped, before mumbling ”sons’a’bitches” under her breath because that seemed oddly right. It seemed the ground was much harder to see in the dark.

Oh no, she had done it now. Eyes widening, she scrambled towards Zerrin in a slight panic. He was mad at her and she didn’t want him to be mad at her. Or at papa. ”I’m sorry, daddy! I won’t say it again,” she vowed earnestly, trying to step in front of him.
”Please don’t get mad at papa. He didn’t mean what he said, promise!” she told him quickly, ears flat in worry. She didn’t like when her daddy got upset, even if he didn’t seem as angry as others. It was because he didn’t yell that she felt even worse about disappointing him. ”Please, can’t we stay out for just some more minutes?”
