"Thank you, Officer," said Jeremiah as he took the paper and read it. His eyes narrowed. Mostly because he had a few ideas as to what it was about but it was not as if- He looked up to Shun, eyes focused on him. Ezra wishes to meet with you to discuss something. It was a short message, sent to Shun mentally, thought the sheet of paper was laid in front of him where what was on it was visible to him.

"You've said as much before, Detective Kuroda," the look on his face seemed to be harder than before, as if the combination of Ezra's email and the same response were both not what he wanted, "but you will need to give more than that if you want to see yourself not brought up on charges. You have to understand that this is fairly damning evidence. We will have to get your statement of your whereabouts from the time you left the department earlier to when you were picked up. If anything, it will enable us to try and prove the validity of you being set-up."

Paper and pen were slid across to him.

Fox looked over the results on her test (thank goodness for the on-the-field test kits, even if they were only good for finding out general information). "Kit says he's clear, so if he handled a bomb, it wasn't between now and the last time he washed his hands." which if that loaned some credence to the idea that 'hey, Shun was on the run and probably didn't wash his hands while running from us'...but it also meant that he also could have not touched the bomb since it was put in the bag.

Shun paused briefly, not expecting to hear Jeremiah's voice in his head like that. He eyed the man, then glanced down at the sheet. That was... curious. He never spoke with Ezra directly in the past. What could the Burning Man want from him now?

It was something he was going to have to deal with later.

With a sigh, he begrudgingly took the pen and paper so that he could start writing down his statement. He had taken a late lunch due to having been caught up with some work here. He had picked up some food to go at a nearby cafe, then went to the park to walk for the rest of his break. When he was starting to make his way back, he had been stopped by the police.

The written statement had a few spelling errors and the like, as he wasn't really taking too much time to double check himself at the moment. Once it was finished, he just looked down at his hands as they remained cuffed down.

Jeremiah nodded when Fox gave Shun the clear about his hands and took the statement after it was written. If he was bothered by any errors, it did not show, instead this did not match up with the locations that the other Shun had been seen. His hand flicked, a gesture towards the two-way glass, and then the door was opening up.

"If you'd take this to Preacher Maria? It should help in ascertaining if Detective Kuroda is telling the truth and someone is setting him up." The information would enable her to pinpoint places to look to see if he was seen on camera at those locations at the same time that the double was seen elsewhere. It would, of course, take a while. "Make sure there's others working that with her."

Once that was taken care of, his attention focused on Shun once more. A gesture was made for Fox to go ahead and undo the cuffs. "There's no need as I doubt seriously Detective Kuroda is going to act out here, however, I will need both your badge and your gun."

Fox nodded as she was instructed, standing up and walking back to the door as well. It seemed whatever key there was, hadn't been kept IN the room. Just in case. Once it had been handed over, she undid the cuffs - absolutely no fear in her posture.

Then she took her seat again, looking through her folder of details from the case so far.

Shun lightly rubbed his wrists as he was freed from the cuffs. As he was about to lean back, he paused and stared at Jeremiah in silence.

"Is this really necessary?" he hissed lowly as he took his badge and his gun and set it onto the table. He didn't push it over to his superior just yet though. He kept his hand over it while giving the older man a hard stare.

"Shun," Jeremiah dropped the title, his tone tired, "it is absolutely necessary. Even if we find evidence to support that someone is setting you up, you are still under suspicion. It would have been one thing with just the attack on myself but with this second attempt? What essentially is an act of terrorism?" The situation was dire.

"Until you are cleared of all suspicion and involvement, you're suspended. Likewise, you will be held until we can either prove that you were not involved in this attack or otherwise."

The wear in Jeremiah's voice made Fox frown, looking between the two men. "Following protocol will ease the minds of everybody else as well. At least I think so. Should the proper channels and procedures show the truth instead of...Hollywood Action Flick style methods, it will look better on paper for everybody."

Because no matter what she or Jeremiah thought, there were other Officers there in the station that would only see what had been on paper and make their minds up accordingly.

There were also some that wouldn't be swayed for months or even years after everything on paper as final.

Shun's gaze darkened at all of this. Though Fox chimed in about going through the proper channels and the like, he just kept his one eye on Jeremiah.

Suspension.

Gritting his teeth, he shoved his things across the table at him.

This will not stop him.

By the book was the way Jeremiah preferred things when it came to paperwork and in cases like this even more so. Even if he did not approve of it and thought otherwise. His hand rested on top of the badge and gun, curling against the items.

"Thank you, Detective Kuroda. Unless you've anything else to add, this is over for the time being." Jeremiah still met his gaze and, again, there was a brief burst of words. I will do what I can to see you out sooner rather than later. I'm well aware that magic is afoot but there's little to be done until we actually catch whatever it is and prove your innocence to the rest. The words came with the brief feeling of being certain that this was the truth of the situation but that he was also bound by the laws they had to uphold. Jeremiah did not enjoy this in the slightest. It was more than obvious, at least for anyone who knew the man.

He pushed himself up to stand, looking to Fox and giving her a small nod. His fingers curled around the cane that was on the back of the chair, leaning on it a moment. Lingering. Then a breath was released.

They were done. Now it was just a waiting game.

from this end, shun will be held until appropriate evidence is discovered to see him released. jeremiah will push for him to be released but under house arrest, similarly to have alexis has an ankle monitor, |:

Results were somewhat inconclusive. There was enough evidence to show that Shun was not at the Police Department during the bombing attempt, despite the footage of what had appeared to be him. He was released, but tagged with an ankle monitor as a means of house arrest. And of course, he remained suspended from the force.
