your mission
The person on this floor is not themselves, and needs rescuing! In order to due so the veilworm filtering their thoughts and making them complacent needs to be removed. The first step to safe removal is causing enough stress to the host for the parasite to disengage.

persuasion
As long as the thrall doesn't seem hostile, this is your best tactic. You can try to remind them what kind of person they really are if you know them, or resort to a less poetic plan of attack if you don't.

• Roll a d10 and bold your persuading phrase
  
• At the end of the turn, the thrall rolls a d10 (if persuadable)
  
• At least one player must meet or exceed the thrall's roll to succeed
  
• Multiple successes in the same turn count as one success
  
• Four successes will make the veilworm retreat and become removable

Fun tip: It's possible to summon up a weapon with magic if you need one, just in case punching isn't your thing.

Everyone starts with 25 HP. If a combat scenario starts, please keep your HP total at the top of your posts!

The sound of dubstep could be heard booming across the floor. The only sources of lights in the area were a few blacklights and a number of glowsticks that hung from the ceiling. But over all, it was pretty dark, though somewhat colorful all at the same time. The walls were painted in a way that some gaudy designs could be easily seen in the blacklight. Several beanbag chairs were strewn about all over the place. A number of these also had designs that seemed to glow in the dark.

Somewhere around there, Shun was lounging in one of the beanbags.

It took Lily a moment to meander up to the fourth floor after Erin. Maybe it had been the lingering looks at Zac, or the other group that had been leading a wolverine to the basement, or maybe it was her own apprehension making her legs heavy. Either way, she strolled in behind Erin just as she was finishing her greetings, looking around in silent reverence for the seedy club aesthetic.

When she spied Shun, she gave him an assessing glance, then sighed. "Well I guess that was too good to be true," she sighed, rubbing her temples.

Shun got up from the beanbag as soon as he realized there were others in his domain.

"Woah, woah, woah," he started looking at the two, "You can't just show up in my crib uninvited. That's just rude, yo. Better start explaining yourselves before I bounce ya asses outta here."

As if to prove this point, he cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders. He looked like he was ready for a fight.

"Hey man, it's cool, we just came to uhh, kick it and crack open a cold one with the boys, and that's you. You're the boy." She summoned a makeshift can of vague energy drink with no discernible branding and held it up as a peace offering. It was a lumpy effort at illusion, and whatever swished in the can had physics more like jello than water, but it was an attempt at making a talking point nonetheless.

"C'mon, dude, you know this isn't your...crib. You're way too cool to be hanging out at Weenie Vape Hut Jr's. Wouldn't you rather, umm, hunt down bad guys or something?"

Lily's first thought had been to suggest he'd rather be stabbing people, but she'd managed to curtail the impulse for the time being. It was probably in poor taste, and she probably shouldn't be condoning stabbing as a hobby when he already looked ready for a fight. She kept her eyes on Shun, but checked for Erin in her periphery--if it came to blows, she could knock the other girl into the relative safety of a beanbag chair and soak whatever the parasite might be willing to dish.

Shun's eyes, both the normal and the one made of shadow locked onto Erin the moment she said what she had said.

"Oh. You're gonna regret that now. Get outta my crib!" he hissed sharply as he rushed in at her to try and punch her.

Lily wanted to say that when Shun went on the attack, she was ready, that she rushed to Erin's defense like the well-trained packmember she assumed herself to be. But when Shun raised his voice, Lily flinched, dodging out of the way of his fists for the cover of a bean bag chair.

"Dude, quick question, what is your damage?" Lily scowled, shuddering as the shift took her to claws and warped ears and a tail that flickered in irritation. She started to close the distance between them, but when she lifted a hand to swipe she suddenly remembered that her condition was contagious and she flinched away. Even if it was just spread by bite, she couldn't be too careful. The last thing she needed was another moonwalker that resented what they were.

She forced the claws to go away despite the tension holding tight in her throat, and with her normal human fingers she shoved at the detective lieutenant.

A sword, and some claws were brought out against him. And in turn, a dagger of shadows appeared in his own hand.

"This is my home now, and I want you outta here. So shoo, shoo fam," he growled while lashing back at Lily after she had shoved him back.
