Lusizi->Busisa, Blota x ?.
Her mother joined the pride as a Busisa during the drought, before it became apparent that she was with cubs. After her two daughters were weaned, she perished in a hunting accident, another victim of the difficult times. Her sister is Ukufa (end of life), owned by Annchen. Father is not aware of these cubs. Khanga smiled at Umkhombo's response about all of the dead Abaholi.. and the extremely reasonable reminder about the idea of retirement. It was true that the pride had done well enough while they were Abaholi, and she of course didn't wish ill on her sire.. even though, without serious introspection, she was one of those who felt anything less than death stopping him was a disappointment. She couldn't help it.

"Welcome home, Umkhombo," she said, excusing herself from the more exciting area of the crowd. She'd have to pick out a good spot, there was bound to be a show when the hunting party returned.

(( Yay, a pretty orange cub for meee ;u; ))

Nomvula didn't seem to value the "tough love" approach in dealing with cubs, and Marmar gave her a vaguely apologetic shrug. She looked over her shoulder at the lionesses gathering around in order to give Umkhombo a thorough interrogation. At least that was what she imagined they'd do. She looked down at the cubs and smiled, listening to what they had to tell.

User Image"Why would they lie about that," Ukufa asked, genuinely confused. She was aware that Mazuri had sat down next to Ilanshi, but she didn't really know her so had hoped her friend would say something first. She saw the older lioness leave, but couldn't bring herself to try to stop her. It was odd, watching the grief in Andhaka's daughters. She'd never known her father, but she knew what it was like to lose a mother. At least Andhaka was still alive.

She felt an urge to go find her sister. Ilantshi wanted something from her, but she wasn't sure what so she couldn't give it to her.

"Do you want to leave," she asked.

---

User ImageIlantshi wanted Ukufa to understand and shut up and say the right things. Her emotions were all over the place and she hated it. She'd ignored her half sister since she wasn't sure how to react or what to say or what was right anymore.

"I don't know," was her only answer to Ukufa's questions, but she got up to follow her. Not that this was something they could outrun or hide from.

One of the lionesses nearby had asked a good question, and curiosity of its answer was partially what drew Mo toward this particular group in the first place. The umholi's answer, she felt, spoke well of him. It seemed to be a regular enough thing - the death of leaders old for leaders new - that he had suffered it in his own line, if she were understanding him correctly. And clearly, that old pair had carried the pride through quite a difficult time. Mo felt that she could get onboard with this apparent break in tradition. Surely it was best to avoid killing another lion when it could be helped; never knew when sparing a life could come in handy, after all.

Of course, his amendment put all that goodwill into some serious question. Mokosh recoiled slightly from the very idea - but there Umkhombo had said it, plain as day. All cubs of the old umholi were safe from him. As if to imply - even for an instant! - that they might... She had heard of visiting the sins of the sire upon the cub, but this was ridiculous!

The dusty lioness' brow furrowed. Her eyes scanned the crowd beyond for a familiar brown pelt - and seeing none, grew more dour still. She was going to have to seek out Mazuri and have a chat with her about some of the finer details of this sizable family.
