For the time being it appeared as if the mink was allowed closer. One cat, larger than the others, meowed accusingly towards the one in the center.

It meowed once more, it's meow echoing from a distance away, and it's ears flicked back as it crouched down before it hissed. In protest, obviously.

A few other cats pressed forward, making sure that the silvery spotted feline did not try to do anything.

Since they didn't react to her, Preacher pressed up right among the group. She wasn't about to let a cat fight break out. Plus, the odds were horribly uneven and unfair. She chittered and tried to slid between the cats.

The mink was hissed at as she slid between them, one of the cats turning to swat. It was that moment that they seemed to realize that there was a mink among their numbers.

Largest among them, the cat that was clearly in charge, turned it's bright eyes towards Preacher. When it growled, multiple eyes appeared on it's body an each of them were focused on her.

It seemed as if the group that had been focused on the silvery cat was now focused on Preacher as an accusatory meow was leveled at her.

if she rolls an even then she kind of gets the idea that she's being accused of being an accomplice to whatever is going on here.

Her eyes narrowed. These were (of course - how did she not realize!) not normal. The one with many, many eyes was staring at her, and Preacher wasn't entirely sure why.

She let out a squeaking noise in return. Maybe the silvery cat could take this opportunity to skedaddle.

The silvery cat did not skedaddle, though it was staring at Preacher like she was crazy. At least, for the moment, the focus was on her and not it.

As the eyes of the othercat continued to stare at her, the others closing in around her, it was clear that it was doing something.

It felt like the cat was trying to stare through Preacher. Each of its eyes reminded her of that thing in the Farmer's Market. She had one of its eyes and she wasn't adverse to collecting more, if the situation warranted it. Although a cat was a cat was a cat and should not be harmed if possible.

The weight of its stare was discomfiting. If she could communicate through glances alone, the silvery cat would know to take this opportunity. Instead, it stayed, too. She bared her teeth at the many-eyed cat, a low rumble erupting from her chest.

It was as if the silvery cat understand and, quite suddenly, it meowed loudly. The meow echoed all around them, all the other cats pushing their ears back against the noise and hissing.

Combined with Preacher's aggressive hiss, it served as an ample distraction and the silvery cat darted off (though it was limping).

Chaos broke out then, the many-eyed cat staring Preacher down and stalking closer as other cats moved to go after the silvery one.

Hella, she thought. This was her good deed for the ********' month. The silvery cat escaped, but that meant she was faced with a bunch of angry, magical cats. ********. It didn't seem like escape was an option.

The more the many-eyed cat stared at her, the more Preacher would feel as if she was rooted to the spot.

Apparently realizing that the silvery cat was gone, the other cats were turning and approaching her. Tails were flicking in annoyance and it was clear that they were not going to let her get out of here easily.

While she wasn't a stranger to fighting groups, it did tend to go bitchtits up more often than a one-on-one. Preacher swung her head around, looking for an exit, and could not find one. Her paws felt heavy, like she should not move, should stay and be judged. With an ear-piercing screech, she slammed bodily into a cat who'd gotten too close. It swiped sharp claws across her shoulder.

The cat with many-eyes did not avert it's gaze, instead holding Preacher within it. A yelp escaped from the cat that she body slammed, claws swiping as it stumbled and slumped away.

There were still more that were coming at her, clearly relying on the many-eyed cat to keep Preacher stationary.

If Preacher could speak, she would be cursing up an imaginative storm.As it was, something about the many-eyed cat held her in place. She could barely move and a low rumble erupted from her throat. The cats seemed to be moving closer and closer. <******** class="quote">

Within seconds, Preacher was at the bottom of a rather fuzzy and not so friendly cat-pile. There were paws pressing, teeth snapping, and all of it to hold her down.

evens, in the confusion of the cat pile, preacher is able to scramble out

This was not how she thought she'd go out. s**t. But Preacher, ******** that, wasn't actually a mink. The cats piled one and she still felt frozen. Then, she felt it: the shift, the elongating, the retracting of fur into skin. She burst out of the pile of cats and booked it. <******** yooouuuu," she said as she went.

The cats almost immediately scattered once they sensed the shifting shape beneath them. Confused meows echoed the area, all the cats hissing and growling.

Except for the many-eyed cat. It slunk back, ears flat to its head, as it stared at Preacher's retreating form.

She might have gotten free but the silvery spotted cat she had seen was nowhere to be found.

preacher is free to go back to other ashdown but now she might want to plan on how she's gonna find her wayward cat buddy ~
