"Well good luck. Just don't arrest myself or my husband for something we certainly didn't do.." His expression was placid but there was a serious undertone there. He trusted Shun to do what was considered to be the right thing but he also knew the pressure and politics when it came to being a detective. As well as that need to solve.

"Taking a breather is not complaceny," Alg clarified, "One should map the lay of the land while in new territory, not simply jump into the fray." Which meant a bit of caution. They were in a foreign world now and it would remain one until they'd figured things out.

"And maybe find out what this new Sunny means for everyone. Hopefully she's less..." He had a lot of words that danced on the tip of his tongue but with a contemplative bite of his lip were held back, "..something."

Shun let out a breath at that. It would certainly put him in a difficult position if he found that the murder was committed by one or more of the past counterparts of any of the people who crossed over into the new world. He hoped it wouldn't come down to that, but it was a possibility he couldn't ignore.

"I suppose so. And as for the new Sunny... we can hope that is the case. But it is hard to say right now..." He didn't have too many personal dealings with Sunny before, but he knew about a few of the things she had pulled. He wasn't sure if the new one would do stuff like that as well, "Something might still need to be done about her to get out of the cage for good."

"Well if the new cage is more user-friendly," Alg was fiddling with his hands now, making small wisps of things appear above his palm. It was mostly just playing around, testing himself to see how it was different than before, "Perhaps Sunny is too."

A thundercloud above his palm appeared and disappeared, "We tired to destroy the cage the first time. It only set Sunny dangerously free. But if Sunny IS magic-" Destroying her would also destroy magic... or would they cause the same turmoil as before?

"We're still dreadfully without huge chunks of information."

"Here is the thing... Sunny is magic, but Sunny did not always exist. Magic... from my understanding, has always existed. It at least did before the cage was around."

She was a daughter of Liam and Renard. That implied that she was created by them in some fashion. And technically the new one had been recreated by the group.

"So there should be a way to do something about Sunny, whatever that may be, without disrupting the balance of things too much."

At least that was his hope. As Alg just said, they were still missing large pieces of information.

"Have you tried talking to them?" Jeremiah was under the impression they weren't so bad as they seemed but Alg couldn't get the vision of Adoelle's throat being sliced, the blood hitting him, being right there, out of his mind.

"I wouldn't march in without some measure of tact-" Not Shun's strong point, "But they may offer you something more to think on. Some help perhaps or insight into what the best end game scenario is for all of us."

He took a breath, "Because we've taken ourselves out of the cycle." Jeremiah and himself. They hadn't known at first, "So unless it all ends-" They would be having this conversation again, perhaps many times, and maybe in the end they would end up just like the others.. with very little hope that it would be fixed.

"Not yet," Shun sighed, "I am not entirely certain how I should approach her on the issue."

Given that, as Alg said, he'd need to go about with tact. And there was the fact that he still didn't really trust Sunny, even if she was different now. But he was probably going to need to try and approach her at some point. He just wasn't sure if anything she said would really be good for them in the end.

And there it was again, the mentioning of nobility being beyond the cycles. If anyone had a greater chance of getting to the bottom of this mess should they fail this time around...

His own time may be limited before he lost it all.

Jeremiah's offer came back to mind.

"Maybe speak to Renard or Liam.." Without seeming like you would kill their daughter, of course that was the catch.

"If the did this, perhaps a direct approach about how to fix it may be better than this piecing things together from other sources." Alg piled his books and began to put them in a bag hanging from the chair he was sitting in.

There was the sound of something cracking underfoot behind both of them and Alg jumped, hand to his chest until he saw the thin, zombie-like figure in an impeccable suit and gloves.

"Adze, Christ."

"Professor-" The fetch had a low timbered voice, not entirely unlike Alg's besides the slight whistle through missing teeth. "We hadn't seen you in the court and Fell is looking for her Lord.. There's something he needs to see to-"

Alg lifted a hand stopping him, not sure what it could be but also unsure if it needed to be said in front of Shun, "I'll let him know, alright?"

"Of course." Adze smiled then turned his head to smile at Shun, "Hello Detective." It was the same amused, strange sense of humor that had come from the False-Algernon. "It's lovely to see you again."

There may have been another sound of feet but when looked for only caught the slightest swish of a skirt disappearing behind a building.

Those were options as well, though dealing with them was going to need a bit of care as well. When he last spoke with Liam it just had to do with the deceased Sunny more than anything else.

Shun turned sharply as he heard something coming from behind, ready to defend himself if need be. And when he saw the fetch there, he didn't really relax all that much as he hadn't dealt with this one before. Or at least he thought he hadn't. Warily, his gaze shifted from Alg to Adze, narrowing his eyes as it spoke to him with a sense of familiarity.

So unlike Jeremiah, Alg had not killed his fetch, it seemed. Granted this one wasn't as much of a shithead as the one that had taken Jeremiah's place, as far as he was aware anyway.

He heard something else nearby. Though he wasn't able to catch what it had been. Still somewhat tense, he just nodded curtly to Adze in acknowledgement.

Alg knew very well that where Adze went, Fell followed and vice versa. Without Jeremiah here though she was likely to remain hidden until commanded otherwise and she was not his to command.

"Shun, pardon me, but I should take care of this.. if you don't mind," His bag was put over a shoulder and he approached the fetch who it turns out was at least an inch taller than him. Adze still bent, slightly bowed, in deference to the Professor.

He did pause, giving the younger man another moment, "Be careful with them. All of them."

Because Alg it seemed was not keen on throwing himself into their drama again so soon. He was having enough trouble getting a grasp on this new life he had.

"I'll see you."

"Of course," Shun nodded. He went ahead and got to his feet now as well, having no reason to be lingering around here either.

Catching Algernon's gaze, he took a moment, then nodded a bit more solemnly. But, he was always careful.

"And you."
