Where were they? Ah this place. The past few days were busy going back and forth amongst the first row, restoring, reimbursing, doing this, and that. Masae sat on the front of the ship, feeling the breeze as she reapplied her own gauze so her wound didn’t become infected. Lyre was a great soul. She was so upbeat all the time, never seeming to stop enjoying the moment. Upon their arrival, it was Lyre who actually pointed it out. Standing up from her chair, she walked over to Azusa and playfully pushed against him,
“ Come on big guy, no time to lose.”
She teased, and hopped over the side of the ship. There was an orphanage nearby, and Masae felt drawn to the place, as if it called to her. Most of the rubble had been removed, and people were now locating the children below. According to one of the nurses, they were all small, and one was still an infant. The maiden helped removed a few more rocks and wooden planks, before she could hear crying. A few minutes later, she held a baby boy in her arms as it clutched at her clothes, seemingly snuggling against her breast. Even when she tried returning him to the nurse, she risked tearing her clothes from such a strong grip,
“ Ha… Um… I’ll hold him for now. I might as well as take the children to get looked at.”
She offered, walking them to a medical tent. The doctors there did more of the major injuries while Masae took care of the minor. The baby’s cuts weren’t too deep, so in the end, she cleaned him and bandaged the wounds after applying ointment. When Azusa would pass by, she would chuckle and shake her head,
“ Maybe you should take him. You’d seem great with children.”
She would say, but was still unable to even et the child off of her. Perhaps it enjoyed her comfort too much, especially after such trauma. Of course, her arms were growing very very stiff at this point, but it seemed she had to find a way to put this baby down so she could go help other people. A mother came up to her, and practically soothed the child into letting go. Masae sighed, and flexed her arms,
“ They’re so heavy… But I guess its worth it.”
