When the cold fire disappeared, Alg reached for the hand and rubbed warmth into momentarily. His own touch, even when not trying to, was warmer and even further connected the pair of them. He only moved away when the hand was warm to his liking and on a whim he moved to the window.

Violetta seemed to want to join him now that the house had it's owners back. Her weight thumped into the window nook as Alg pulled back the curtain to glance outside, like something would look strange except..

"Jeremiah did you um.." He coughed, "See the garden?"

Skin to skin, Jeremiah's affection and love was clear to Algie. The taller man smiled and when his hand was released, turned to put the book back up on the shelf. Hellbine was twining around his feet so he crouched with a quiet hiss of breath, a twinge of pain along his back, and picked up the small cat to settle onto his shoulders.

There was no response from him to what Algie asked, Jeremiah instead joining him and looking out the window and- "Are you bloody ******** serious??" The garden had grown wild, in bloom, where there were not places of it being torn up.

Hellbine was promptly jumping off and joining his sister in the window nook. Mostly because coldfire had sparked to life on him again, hands clenched and Jeremiah's eyes glowing brightly.

Algie's hand when to Jeremiah's back as soon as the other was by his side. He smoothed it up his husbands spine, feeling the cold through his shirt and frowning. He knew the other didn't feel his cold so keenly anymore but even so..

The anger also needed to be soothed away.

"Looks deliberate.." Deep frown. "Either that or a monster was in the yard."

Jeremiah seemed to immediately sink in on himself before he straightened up and sighed. The coldfire faded away and the silver-haired man leaned his head towards Algie's, turning to nose at his temples before he spoke.

"Both is very possible," the words were muffled into the other man's hair, "all things considered."

Algie moved, setting himself between Jeremiah and the window. His arms circled his husbands waist and he nudged his nose and lips against the other's jaw.

"We're just back.. everything is.." He sighed, his voice low and even, "Everything is different again but we aren't. We are fine."

It was hard for him to keep perspective when things seemed to change so drastically but for the moment he needed to for Jeremiah.

"It's all just things. Nothing we can't fix." His hands slid up the other back until they came around to hold his cheeks and he kissed the man. "We're fine."

Jeremiah breathed deep, eyes closed and then when they cracked open again he let out a huff into the kiss Algie gave him.

"Cheat," he murmured against his lips. It wasn't bad, it was just sometimes that Algie's ability to redirect him was a little overwhelming. Usually in the best of ways.

"I know," he said a moment later, head resting against Algie's and his arms coming up to wrap around him. "Nothing we can't handle together." That's the important thing, though in the back of his mind-

No, Jeremiah pushes it away and instead drags his hands up to mimic Algie's. Hands against his husband's cheeks and his feelings as clear as a bell.

"It's not cheating.." He chuckled. He hadn't even used his hands to calm the other. He could feel Jeremiah's emotions, the care and love but the underlying uneasiness and anger.

"It's just not the time to be angry. We can do that later.." And he would feel Alg's anxiety, a feeling of loss, like someone died but it was the entire world. The whole of his comfort zones had been wiped away and replaced with something else.

"For now," His head tilted to kiss Jeremiah's palm before taking his hand in his own and lowering them. "I think our children want attention and maybe we should get showers and maybe tea and a nap."

Said children were watching them now and it was likely they would be followed around the house until the cats were settled again.

"It's always cheating," Jeremiah teased, feeling Algie's own anxiety that echoed his own. Where there was frustration in him, there was loss in the other and he sighed softly. This place wasn't truly theirs and they would have to make it so.

"Then we'll shower and I'll make us something while we have tea and then we can sleep." As he still did not cook as much as he could and was getting back into it. Perhaps that would just be a way to reclaim things now. His fingers brushed against Algie's cheek before curling in his husband's hand. Reassurance and affection broadcasted as loudly as he could. "We'll work out the rest of the details after that."

They could handle anything together, they could.

Softly glowing blue-green eyes glanced down towards said children. "You two will have to wait until we've showered. If you don't pop the bathroom door open while we're in there, I might make you something as well ..." Because they were those children.

This place wasn't theirs, not right now. It would be and they'd grow to be used to the changes but for now it was like existing in a bizarro dimension. They both had some learning to do, about themselves, and the roles they were now filling.

Violetta didn't like being told to wait and she was already half crawling up Algie's side until he lifted her to drape around his shoulders.

"Kids," He sighed.

Jeremiah rolled his eyes, offering his arm out to Hellbine. The small cat wasted no time and was soon matching his sister in draping himself on the taller man's shoulders. The next arm offer went to his husband, a small smile given as well as a soft squeeze.

For all the unease, the familiarity of their children made things not as bad. Jeremiah could handle this, these changes, and Algie could as well. They would face the coming day but first they had to look after each other.
