The battle is over and the winner of the match is: Maria and her Lillipup
Despite having a weakened defense due to leer and a lowered attack strength due to Growlithe's ability; Lillipup was able to dish out more attacks and therefore damage to Chance (4/5 attacks). Meanwhile Chance was flinched and only able to dish out 3 attacks work of damage. And one of those attacks not being affected by the use of Leer.

Maria Taylor Flygon House Future Pokémon Breeder & Healer
As the dust cleared from around Lillipup, Maria smiled. She was doing great. “Great work Lillipup.” She praised her partner. Looking to Chance she knew there was only an open window where they’d be able to strike again. Maria didn’t plan on missing that opportunity. Not today. Looking back to Lillipup who straightened up proudly despite breathing heavy, the ten year old couldn’t be more proud of her. “Now’s our chance Lillipup! Tackle one more time!” She called out to her puppy Pokémon. “Pup pup.”(Will do.)Lillipup barked back in reply before running back at Chance again.
Colliding into the fire type dust was once again picked up. Surrounding the two pups, Maria held her breath. ‘Is it enough…?’ She thought. Her heart beating fast in her chest, she waited for the dust to clear. Espurr covered his eyes hoping it would be over. As the dust cleared Lillipup was revealed to be still standing. She too was hoping it was over, since she couldn’t see Chance through all the dust. Looking in front of them suddenly the fire type was revealed. Seemingly he was knocked out by the final tackle done to him. Lillipup was quick to collapse to the ground after that from shear exhaustion.
Maria let out the breath she had been holding before breaking into a smile. Lillipup did it. She really did it, again. Honestly the brunette Flygon couldn’t believe it. Her last to wins had been hard to believe but this one against Chance had been huge. He and Kirsi were a tough challenge and that certainly hadn’t chanced even after facing them.“That was a great battle. You two were tough.” Maria commented to Kirsi as she walked over and picked up Lillipup. “And thank you it was really fun.” She added with a smile.

Chance stumbled away from Lillipup once she let him go, only to be rammed in the side with a tackle. "Hang in there, Chance! Try to get her with ember!" Chance tried, but he coughed up sparks onto the ground, still out of breath from that heavy tackle to his side. He was obviously almost too tired to keep going. Without giving Chance time to recover, Lillipup summoned its strength and barreled into Chance. Chance crumpled, falling down and onto his side, flanks rising up and down fast as he panted, and didn't get up.
Kirsi watched what happened as if it was in slow motion. When the shock that Chance had actually lost kicked in, emotions flooded her head. Frustration at losing to a flinch was overwritten by admiration for Maria and Lillipup's fighting which was overwritten by a disgusting feeling of guilt and shame for losing which was overwritten by her need to go to Chance and make sure he was okay. She would tell him he was the best growlithe ever and even Dad's growlithe was never that good and he would get lots of treats and pets tonight.
Kirsi ran forward, crouching by Chance and placing a hand on his side. His eyes opened and he began panting heavily, trying to arch his neck to lick her hand. "You did really good Chance. You get to rest now." For some reason, Kirsi felt tears at the edges of her eyes. She took a deep breath and they went away. When she straightened, she swallowed her pride and looked at Maria. Kirsi really did feel like it was a hard-fought battle, and though she was frustrated by Chance's flinching, she knew she felt like Maria was probably a better battler than her. While that made her angry, it (plus the massive crowd of people watching) made her humble enough to not actually get upset. "Yeah, that was a really great battle. Um. Good luck. I'll root for you." Although Kirsi didn't really feel like watching the battles anymore. She just wanted to get out of here. So she did, heading for the medical center.
