Profile:

Xophre, more than anything else is inquisitive and loves to explore new places and ideas. Her thirst for knowledge and excitement for troll interaction comes from a long childhood kept hidden away from other trolls. Her lusus, fearful of what others could do to her, thought it best to keep her away from isolated for as long as possible. When her lusus first became her guardian she was quickly whisked away to be hidden from society like a young princess.

Xophres upbringing was anything but royal. Due to her lusus’ want to roam and graze, his only viable option was to carry her off into the desert and find a suitable place to stash her. He reasoned that even if she wandered, she was unlikely to run into any other trolls in the middle of nowhere. Growing up isolated from other trolls, Xophre is quite lacking in social prowess and knowledge of customs. Gaining her trust and friendship can be delightfully easy when she is in a good mood or agonizingly difficult if she is feeling sour. She habitually ranks trolls she meets entirely on the first thing they say and can be quick to attach herself to someone with an enticing enough offer or sufficiently interesting story. Though she doesn’t grow emotionally attached to others easily she does enjoy the thought of having a herd of trolls around and learning about technology and how troll society has advanced. This eagerness to learn often leads her to believe the things others tell her without questioning their motives. She is quick to act on her instincts and doesn’t waste time thinking about the consequences of her actions or possible harm that could come to herself or others.

Xophre accepts the hemospectrum caste system as a necessity to maintain order, and the cultural significance is not completely lost on her, but she sees it as extremely antiquated and in need of major restructuring and does not believe it is a sustainable form of governance. In light of her views she is respectful to those above her to the bare minimum required and tries to avoid trampling over those considered beneath her.

Technology is a source of great pleasure for Xophre. She often collects damaged trinkets and interesting apparatus with the full intent of repairing them to their former glory, even though she may not know what they were used for or if repair is even possible. A complete lack of technical training and no real access to tools of any kind renders success in her hobby mediocre at best. She can often be found throwing her beloved objects at a wall when her resolve snaps and she devolves into a fit of rage. She has built up quite a collection of strange and interesting devices in her hive and takes great offense to any suggestion that the ones she has managed to repair are lacking in value.

Strengths:

Trustingness;
Xophre takes what others say at face value. Never one to question the motives behind what another troll tells her, she is always willing to listen, especially if their story involves something that piques her interest.

Guilelessness;
Xophre tends to be straightforward with others. Not wanting to waste time with masking her intent or investing unnecessary effort in treachery. This can often bewilder or amuse those who are used to interacting with more sinister individuals.

Expeditiousness;
Driven by her want to explore , Xophre is often the first to get her feet wet in strange situations and is quick to take action when required. Her willingness to throw herself into things without hesitation can easily be mistaken for an intent to lead. Any trolls that attempt to follow her often find themselves left high and dry.

Detachment;
While Xophre is friendly toward unaggressive trolls she doesn’t like to get mixed up in any of their affairs unless they are directly related to her or her interests. This is especially true in cases where she feels she will be bogged down and be forced to stick around and see things through.

Paucity of Sweat;
Having grown up in a hot and arid environment, Xophre has a high tolerance for heat and never seems to break a sweat, except for in the most gruelling of conditions. Though this could also just be attributed to her pores being melted shut from near constant exposure to acid...

Flaws:

Credulity;
Xophres tendency to take what friendly trolls say without question, combined with an inherent honesty about her own motives can be quite detrimental to her everyday activities and often lands her in hot water before she realizes she’s been duped. Though she isn’t stupid, it does take her some time to put two and two together to realize she’s been lied to.

Negative Temperament;
Xophre is quick to become frustrated when things don’t go the way she expects, and even quicker to anger when that frustration reaches its peak. After her anger abates she may slip into periods of melancholy and self-loathing without some positive event or a visit from her lusus to level her mood.

Apathy;
Though she usually comes off as agreeable, Xophre never appears to care one way or the other about trolls she meets. Even when feeling drawn to another troll her demeanour seems indifferent.

Aversion to Proper Lab Safety;
The numerous scars and burns on her body speak volumes about what she considers ‘safe procedure', and the safety of others tends to rank at an ever lower importance than her own. Compounded with her inability to maintain her composure when flustered this can lead to extremely toxic situations.

Weapon:

Sulfuric Acid;
Xophre uses various vials and flasks of liquid and powdered acids as defensive weapons. Though not inefficient as offensive weapons, they make excellent combat deterrents especially in close quarters. She believes she has developed a slight pH resistance from sweeps as a wriggler eating regurgitated Lusus bile, but still manages to often burn and injure herself.

Appearance:

Xophres wears overall shorts and a black t-shirt, her clothes are randomly pocked with small holes from spatters of acid and her skin has many blemishes and small scars. Her horns as a kid are small nubs growing in the shape of Aurochs horns.
Xophres hair is pulled back into a braided ponytail in the back, the sides are loosely looped around her horns.

Home:

Desert, far outskirts of Chittentown.
Xophre spent most of her developing years quite literally living under a rock. After first taking possession of her as a wriggler her lusus stashed her away amongst a rocky outcropping in the desert in order to keep her safe while he wrangled dinner during the day. Throughout the sweeps gradual excavation lead to a comfortably spacious cavity beneath the stone. With a penchant for collecting ‘technological wonders’ she restlessly squanders her time attempting to return said wonders to some state of usefulness. Though Xophre enjoys all the amazing things she has collected, she has never felt any particular attachment to them and tends to leave them in various states of disrepair scattered in piles against the walls. The burrow was never a home in her mind, merely the location she currently resided, her mind always dreaming of the outside world.

Lusus:

Xophres Lusus is a large 6 legged cow with the head, wings and forelegs of a fly, he can usually be seen chewing on a piece of fleshy cud. She calls her lusus Gad-Dad and is always harassing him with a flurry of questions, though the only response she ever receives is Gad-Dad vomiting nutrient rich bile in her direction. Gad-Dad spends a great deal of time away from Xophre, traveling great distances to graze, though what he grazes on in the desert during the day is a mystery to Xophre as all she ever sees is those putrid shambling corpses. He returns for short periods to check in and leave puddles of bile soaked mystery sludge to sustain her, and if he feels she is being too dreary or unmotivated during his visits will n** and bite at her to remove her from her stupor, much to Xophres distress. Despite his irreverent attitude and removed rearing of Xophre, Gad-Dad cares deeply for her and wants her to follow her dreams of inquiry and exploration. When accompanying Xophre Gad-Dad appears oblivious of other trolls unless they pose a danger to Xophre or look like they may have a delicious taste; though half-hearted swatting is often enough to get him to buzz off. In reality Gad-Dad is extremely judgmental of trolls as a species and, knowing the types of atrocities they are capable of, he is always on edge. He accepts that Xophre herself is a troll and will want to integrate back into their society, though he wishes he could keep her locked away, safe from the dangers of the outside world, forever.

Power:

None. Sad.

Heya! Welcome to Hivestuck.

First thing: according to the hemospectrum of characters we've got going on, Xophre's blood color would be considered yellow. The highest/greenest yellowbloods we've got are the hex code #94A108, so if you're attached to Xophre being specifically a greenblood, then anything greener than that will work just fine.

As for Xophre's character herself, she's reading really well! My points of critique are more a matter of rearranging/expanding on details for clarity's sake, rather than changing anything about her character.

Critque-ways, the way Xophre's strengths are worded make it unclear as to how exactly they benefit her. Being trusting may endear her to certain trolls, but from the sound of it the trait primarily opens Xophre up to being in constant danger of being taken advantage of. Similarly, her guilelessness is hard to envision as a definitive strength of hers. Her mannerisms could be taken as refreshing, or as rude depending entirely on the character she's interacting with. What are traits Xophre has or skills that she's developed in order to help herself go about her nightly life?

To that end, Xophre's expeditiousness and detachment traits can totally work to benefit a troll. Being a go-getter and not easily wrapped up in sentimentality are both highly valued traits on Alternia. However, I feel like there's a chance I'm extrapolating there, so you might want to expand/be more specific with those. Particularly in her expeditiousness description there appears to be more focus on her unintentionally inconveniencing others rather than helping herself.

Paucity of sweat is great, though, as are her array of flaws. It's always good to see strengths and flaws that are two sides to the same coin. As far as editing goes, I think just separating the benefits and the detriments more definitively will help with clarity. Right now they're reading fairly similarly.

Gad-Dad is perfect. Never change, sir.

And that's all I've got! Hit me up when you're ready for me to read it over again and I'll be able to approve her.
