Bad things happen to good people, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Shiloh is a typical, disillusioned high schooler. He's pretty convinced at this point that the world is conspiring against him, and that's fine, because Shiloh's got two fists and he ain't afraid to use them. He's pretty scruffy and very rough around the edges, but most of his aggression is a front he wears to protect the sensitive still-technically-a-kid under the crust. He's not sure when his mom left, but it's been pretty downhill ever since. "I only have to feed you and put a roof over your head" is a saying heard quite commonly in the Beaumont household, and it's pretty apparent that his dad doesn't do much else in the role model department.
CALM DOWN HOLDEN CAULFIELD
Shiloh has some pretty serious internalized self loathing. He has zero sense of self preservation because of it, and while he isn't necessarily looking to drop off the face of the earth, he still doesn't do a whole lot to prevent mishap and injury. Most of this disposition is a result of his neglectful, if not downright abusive dad. It would be one thing if he could keep himself placated with the thought that hey, someday after high school he'll be able to move out, but the fact is he's still too stuck in the here-and-now of his poor situation to really believe things can change.
Distrusting of adults and authority (when have they ever done anything good for him, after all), he'll often act out when he's feeling trapped or uncomfortable. It's all part of his bid to look tough and steel himself from emotional harm. If that doesn't work, he retreats into his metaphorical shell and it's hard to get him to open up. He's come this far alone anyway, so does he really need anyone? His brother is one of the few people he's let in because of what they've been through, but even then he harbors a lot of jealousy beneath the surface at who he perceives is "the better child". He still loves his brother a lot, which just makes the envy another source of inner conflict. Shiloh just always feels like he's never going to be good enough, so why bother even trying in the first place? Everyone else has already given up on him.
Add to that his dyslexia, which embarrasses him and makes him feel even more inadequate (reading is so ******** simple, why can't he just do it). All of this culminates into his already inherent depression, which although he attempts to manage, easily gets overwhelming under the weight of everything else going on in his life.
THIS CALLS FOR A SHELLEBRATION
Turtles. Twenty-Four Seven Turtles. How likely is it to find turtle themed things in a store? Very if you're one Shiloh Beaumont. Does he need a new sketchbook? This one, among all the other plane jane ones, has a tortoise decal on it. Maybe he needs a new cover for his phone? You guessed it: there's one eye level in the store he just walked into, with extra the turtle. This isn't limited to mere depictions of the animal; turtlenecks always seem to be on all the clothing racks, and he doesn't have to look hard to find some caramel turtle desserts. Even all the local creeks seem to have an abundance of the little guys when Shiloh's around.

🐢 Shiloh is 18 and currently is a Senior in high school
🐢 Sun sign is Scorpio, Moon is Capricorn, and Rising is Leo
🐢 Main major hobbies include graphite/charcoal drawing, making playlists (being an indie music idiot in general) and freestyle BMX shenanigans
🐢 Less major hobbies include casual gaming (animal crossing, some pokemon but no competitive s**t. He has a torkoal named Coalapagos and a squirtle named Shellshocker after the Blastoise of the same name in the first movie)
🐢 Despite his dyslexia, Shiloh still really enjoys a good story. His iPod is filled with audiobooks that he's has his brother torrent off of the internet.
🐢 Speaking of his brother, Shiloh has a twin! His name is Oliver and looks are basically their only similarity.
🐢 Shiloh likes to work out, and tries hard to manage his depression with exercise. He's got some pretty decent arms under all those baggy clothes.
🐢 Shiloh has pretty roughed up hands. His fingertips are calloused, and his nails are short due to his incessant nail biting.
