AME BELROSE
GRUMPY GAY GRANNY
GRUMPY GAY GRANNY
An intimidating old woman with a bit of an "evil witch" reputation for her ornery nature, missing eye and arm, and new-age shop, Mrs. Belrose is a woman who's seen enough of life to know what she wants and what she doesn't have time for. She's been married, she's had kids (grandkids even!), and she's been pretty openly lesbian since the 70's, and really doesn't have time for bullshit and liars. That said, she's very protective of younger people, especially young girls, and thinks of herself as a defender of the weak and helpless.
WITH A HEART OF STONE
Ame has always been a cold and distant person who really struggled to connect with her emotions - it was a coping mechanism, at first. If she never felt, she could never hurt. But now, as she's lived her life it's become more and more of a problem. Her spouses have left her. She has few people she can call a friend. Her children have all abandoned her, keeping contact at a minimum because of the strained love between them. And in her old age, Ame's realized if she doesn't change her ways she's going to die alone... and this terrifies her. She wants to be able to meet her grandchildren and be involved with her family again, before its too late. She wants to have friends, and lovers, and be a part of her community. So now... she needs to remember how to open her heart again, and let it soften.
Her coldness makes it hard for her to form the connections with people she's attempting (to ease her loneliness) and makes it difficult to tell that she's trying to be friendly, because of how she's somewhat scary looking - coupled with a stern voice and an emotionless face, she definitely doesn't look like someone you'd want to be friends with!
FRESH FLOWER FEVER
Flowers just seem to last longer than usual when Mrs. Belrose has them around! She has the same bouquets in her shop for weeks on end, long after they probably should have died, and they seem just as perky as when they were first cut a month later, although they eventually wither away. Still, Ame's sure its just a trick of the light, or perhaps her memory getting a bit fuzzy...
ANYTHING ELSE?
Mrs. Belrose is an old Japanese-American woman - 77 years old to be exact. She has tanned skin and long white hair she generally wears in a loose bun, though she's been known to leave it down. Her eyes are amber colored. Her clothing style tends toward comfortable and loose. and prefers cool colors, especially purple, and floral patterns. She's missing her left eye and arm above the elbow, she has a passive prosthetic she generally wears. There is a large scar running through her missing left eye. She runs a new-age store in town - The Crystal Sword.
Her life has been long and tumultuous, from losing her arm in her youth (why don't you ask her about it?), to her marriages and children (she has three, two daughters and a son, who all have gotten married themselves and live happily apart from their mother). She's kept the name of her husband, who she left when she came out as gay. Since then she's lived alone in the apartment above her shop, only sometimes having live-in partners.
Her name is pronounced "Ah-meh".
I probably forgot most of the other details I had in mind for her. But they can come about in RP lol.
