Today was not proving to be the best day for our young greenblood. Panting and covered in blood, Aconan half-shoved, half-dragged her lusus into the nearby cave. She hadn't had time to give it a proper examination, but it didn't look fancy or over the top or have any visible trap, so it hopefully shouldn't be a highblood's cave, even if it was inhabited (which she wasn't sure about either, from her brief check - most inhabited caves were trapped, after all, even just to prevent accidental intruders if not to prevent deliberate... but in fairness they weren't going very far in the cave, so maybe the traps would be later.)
Either way, the important thing was they weren't currently under attack in here, like they had been outside - Aconan herself was relatively uninjured, but Loupsus was bleeding from numerous pecks and cuts, and she could see burrs and clawtips stuck into his thick fur that would need coming out before they got knotted into the fur or infected a wound. Thankfully none of his wounds were deep enough to need stitching, but the one near his neck would need gluing because it was on his neck nd would be moving a lot so wouldn't scab very well.
Aconan told her lusus to sit whilst she pulled out the first aid kit. Loupsus huffed and flopped on his side, splattering more blood across both Aconan and the floor in great globules. The troll responded by giving her lusus a less-than-pleased look, but this was belied by her gentleness as she started to pull free the stuff stuck in his coat, whilst her lusus kept an ear on the cave entrance warily.

Tierte hadn't been out long. Just enough to check all her traps for prey. Today hadn't been a very lucky day, managing to only capture a few squeakbeasts. Still something was better than nothing! She hopped back on Lynxmom as they made their way back to their hive.
They arrived just a few feet away from the cave opening when Tierte smelled it. It smelled just like blood and a lot of it. Maybe a wounded animal had crawled into their cave to die? The redblood hoped it wasn't a troll but, on the bright side an injured troll would be easier to deal with. Tierte hung close to Lynxmom as they approached. They were just about in the cave, Tierte's small pumpbiscuit feeling like it was going to explode, before they decided to charge in. Lynxmom barreled into the cave, teeth bared and growling then...stopped?
Tierte was waiting outside still a nervous wreck when she heard her mother go quiet. Had whatever was in their got her mom? She went into panic mode instantly before hearing her mother let out a comforting purr. So she wasn't hurt...? Tierte inched into the cave spying a large howlbeast sitting near the entrance, covered in what looked to be several cuts. And there was a troll as well, a greenblood, who was tending to what Tierte could only assume was their injured lusus. Lynxmom remained her friendly purring self as she sat near the greenblood child, and also trying to show the redblood it was okay. Tierte simply raised a hand, squeaking out a "hello" to the greenblood, still incredibly anxious. "Uhh...do you need help?"

Yunonia I completely understand if you no longer want to RP considering it took me /a goshdarned year/. :3;;;;
Loupsus gave a short bark as Lynxmom approached, and sat up - not stood up, as to prove too aggressive, but enough to show he was protecting his charge, and would not stand for aggression. He kept both his pairs of ears flat, and lolled his tongue, keeping his teeth hidden, trying to communicate his non-aggression. Aconan gave a friendly yip to the new lusus, which seemed to be enough to reassure the lusus that the pair meant no harm, and padded over to sit near Aconan and purr.
Aconan relaxed at that - whilst being an expert on canines, she knew enough about felines to know that purring was generally a comforting noise, and not an aggressive one. She had finished gluing the bigger cuts now, so she was just picking out things from Loupsus's coat, now.
And then the other troll appeared. Aconan blinked, tilting her head questioningly as the other spoke.
"...."
She paused, considering. Did she want to let this strange troll near her lusus?
"...if you don't mind the blood, I would appreciate help getting the burrs and claws from his coat."
In the end, Aconan decided to trust the other - for now. |
