Getting to human world for saving Halloween, getting lost in the maize maze...also maybe getting time-slipped few times. Squinting, Mahlan looked to the top of the small table next to the wall, a single ear-shaped candy in plastic wrapper, her prize for escaping the Maze.
Urgh. A new day, a new adventure they say. Live each day to the fullest they said.
-screw this imma gon' sleep again-
*knock-knock*
"..."
*knock-knock-knock*
"MAHLAN'S NOT INNNNN. TRY AGAIN TOMMORROWWWW." replied the student after a while pretending not to be in.
"Hey Mah- I know you're not feeling chirpy today, but you've gotta see this." A voice from outside her dorm room door beckoned, whom Mahlan registered begrudgingly as the Tsukumogami. A piece of paper was inserted into the gap between the door and the floor, and she manipulated the grass carpet to deliver the object into her hand.
It's a notice for a special class. The lecturer responsible are...Professor Winter? Wow, talk about a high-up; but what does this have with her?
"Look at the name of the participants." said Rei again, still behind the door. The fact that he know what Mahlan currently thought about the question signifies that Rei has [Jacked] somewhere into the room. Maybe the door. Quite possibly the door. Definitely the door-
Mahlan took one globule of dried sap she shed sometime last night and threw that to the door, yelling "Go die peep!" while laughing. The strange glow from the gap slowly dimmed; he must be walking away from the door.
Ah, she felt a little better.
Now what's the problem with this announcement, she glanced the paper to see what exactly wrong with-
"Human World visit...blahblahblah...on Prime October the 31th...blahblahblah...tradition...blahblah..."
Geh, she tch'd in mind after reading the sentence that sentences her to participate.
"All Year 1 students listed below must partake in the visit as it is mandated. Furthermore absentee will be put into indefinite detention. Wat the heck!?"
In the fifth row was her name, written clearly.
This' gonna be some kind of mistake, but...
Eh. The deadline for the document processing is today. Crap; why don't that phones b*****d waken her earlier!?
Muttering some incomprehensible cursing that makes the dyrad student she passed goes instantly pale, Mahlan took no detours and races the hall in swift walking...not running since it was prohibited-to the demon professor's office. She was...welcomed with a quite cold reception of 'Welcome, I've been waiting for you' in a business-like tone. Also she mentioned that the other participants of the trip has came like, ages ago (not literally speaking) and she has a lot of preparation to be done, so the signing of the contract will be brief and-
"Eh, what contract?"
The demoness glared at her, and sighed. After that Professor Winter explained in a lengthy version of why she needed to 'sign' the contract, about the object of the trip, the human superstitions that MIGHT be useful for the future of the Halloweeners, with an uncertain emphasis on the word MIGHT, and other things, including how to operate the emergency beacon in the temporary passport.
Mahlan was unable to ask anything due to the massive amount of the information pouring in one-sidedly from the professor.
Aaand it rolls just like that. Mahlan, still lost with how quick the events unfolded now are back at the human world, presumably not the same spot she visited with professor Selene, already in invisibility glamour-something, the passport in her hands...
-and face frozen from shock. What the heck?
{Now in Human World...again!}
