Ali Baba stared out into the dessert, his mind wandering towards nothing in particular. However, there was one though that did constantly plague him since the sun peaked over the horizon, since his vowed brother interrupted his nightly rest and insisted they use the day to their advantage. This thought? He did not want to be out and about. He did not want to listen to Ard’s constant chatter about… About? DANG IT! What was the older B’alam going on about this time?

‘Was today supposed to be a hunting lesson? Something about the plant life? What not to eat? Dang it, I don’t know anymore.’

A look of lose and confusion plagued Ali’s face, his eyes wondering to stare at the land before him while he chewed on his lower lips. There was, after all, no point in hiding the fact that he was not listening since Ardavan would find out one way or another. And again, he would be sternly lectured on how these lessons would help his survival and how the older B’alam would not always be at his side every waking moment to help him along.

It was not as Ali did not want to learn, he did! He wanted to be able to care for himself and others! He wanted to be able to make his sworn brother proud. He was just so scared of embarrassment and failure…

Plus, it did not help that Ardavan would go on and on and on about that and that in the most boring manner Ali had ever heard. Then again, he had not met many since being woven.

Turning towards the red head, Ali gave the best smile he could give.

“Ah, brother? Could you possibly repeat that, and possibly in a more entertaining manner, please?"

User ImageRoan routinely took some time each day, usually before the sun had fully risen, to go for a run. To run invigorates him, he had come to realize over the course of his life so far, though from this point it hasn't been a so very long time since he had awaken in this world at that.

Anyway, he was getting back to were he had started this run from, where other members of the group were located, last he'd seen them. He was glad to see they hadn't taken off anywhere without him and as he drew closer he eased up his speed but still not by much. Then he jumped forward in a pounce once he decided on a halt.

"G'morning," Roan gave the brothers a bright greeting after landing within their near proximity and taking a moment to indulge in a brief stretch before addressing them with a toothy smile. Clearly he had yet to realize he may or may not be interrupting a discussion meant to stay between the two of them alone.

Ardavan paused mid-sentence. Ali Baba hadn't heard a word he had said... typical. It had taken him weeks of trail and error to discover the road to survival in this deserted place. They were woven here of all places and there must have been a reason for it. The One would not have placed them here knowing they would die. They had to work for every grain of knowledge and insight, every advantage, every drop of water and scrap of meat. Claws grew sharper against harder surfaces. They were to become strong, dangerous, and do their creator proud.

They could not afford to take their survival lightly.

Aggravation sent his maw twitching slightly. He wanted to growl in frustration but he managed to rein in his anger and cool it before another breath could pass his lips.

"Aloian leaves." He repeated, this time a little slower. "They are thick, plump, and are ridged in little spines. Everything defends what's precious to it with claws- even the flora here. Remove the thorns, peel the flesh, and you will find a thick green paste. It does not taste...wonderful, but it is life-giving. It contains water. It will give us strength, and most importantly it-"

He paused as a tan-pelted tahtll joined he and Ali in the sands. He dipped his head in greeting. "Ah, Roan, good to see you this morning. You're just in time-", he glanced back to his brother. "I was just about to discuss how we will survive the crossing. I have reason to believe that there is actual pooled water further to the south."
