Horus Heresy plastics coming in three weeks

This is supposed to be the replacement for Lord of the Ring and the Hobbit. I would not expect it to be a limited edition.

The first run is limited though, 18,000 copies worldwide. The second production run won't become available until sometime January. GW is hoping to sell big for the Holidays with this by making it limited now, but abundant later. However, they shouldn't be worried about this not selling, as it's an excellent army starting deal, or a great way to reinforce an existing army.

Even Forge World is in on this notion with a load of bundles geared towards quickly and easily (but not cheaply) get you started with their Horus Heresy game:

Word on the street is that it's actually quite good, being a mix of Space Hulk and X-Wing of all games. Time will tell I suppose.

Has anyone else got theirs yet? I'm already working on assembling my Contemptor and have all my marines removed from the sprues.

I've got everything built except for four Tacticals, they'll be built when I can find two more heavy bolters and two more plasma guns.

I just need to find a good HQ unit and I've got myself a nice allied detachment.

I already have enough of both of those to field full ten man squads.
