(Back log; Before Nikita left for her mision)

Word Count-
Fenris:
Nicodemus "Rolh":
Kagi:
Nikita:
Cain:
Morning Star:

User Image Kagi sat back on his haunches enjoying the evening breeze. It was overcast enough he could see just fine without hiding in a cave until the twilight hours. He loved these kinds of days. He felt as if he got to see more than the walls of rocks... or rather try and doodle on them all the while sharpening his claws. Sharp claws cut things better, cutting things was fun, and the cave looked better with his fabulous art all over it. Even if Cain said it was nothing more than stick-scribbles on the wall. He drew the whole family, even mean brother Cain. Dahde' liked them. Though, Kagi couldn't quite get how shiny he was with his horn in the doodles.

"Carful of over that!" Kagi called to one of the cubs they had captured. "No wings! You fall down and not be safe."

His eyes narrowed. There were only three "cubs". One was taller than the others. The white ghosty one. She had been there longer than even he had been. Only by one though. Kagi took pride in being the second to join. After Cain. Maybe... he didn't join as a cub. So could he count? Well, yes. Kagi liked to think he came after the white cub. It made him feel more important.

The other two that came after him were just as fun, but he liked that they came after himself. The one with the golden head and the one with the red-line down her back... Kagi had to name the golden head one. The cub kept saying something gibberish, like Nicodhemoodle.... Nhapkin.... Nikita (no, that was the white one). Kagi instead called the golden-head cub "Rohl". It seemed fitting and it was easier to say.

He was supposed to watch them all. A brave guard to the little cubs to make sure they all stayed in one place. Above all else he had to be gentle with only them. They belonged to Dahde' and Dahde's stuff had to be protected.

User ImageNicodemus stopped just shy of the cliff's edge. Blue eyes peered over the edge even as he heard the call of their big red nanny demanding he be careful because of a lack of wings. All he was going to do was peek, nothing more. Like Kagi, Nicodemus liked days that were overcast. They were not confided to the cave and subject to the torment of Kagi scraping his claws against the rock for what seemed endless hours.

His tail flicked back and forth before he looked back over his shoulder to see if anyone followed. Nikita was there along with Kagi just a few feet away.

Before he could look for Fen he turned his attention back to the cliff side.

"I wasn't going to fall..." He protested with a soft huff before backing away just a bit from the edge.

His ears flicked back as he heard footsteps approaching behind him. Each step was light, so he knew it was't "thunder-paws Kagi". He glanced over his shoulder to see Nikita walking up behind.

User Image"What have you found there?" Nikita inquired softly as she approached the younger cub.

She was still young herself, however she was no longer a small cub as she was when she was captured. She had been there so long... her legs had gotten longer and her frame more slender. Her fur was no longer as soft and had become brittled with her upbringing.

Kagi barked something again about not having wings, but she ignored him and lay down next to Nicodemus.

Since being captured these two cubs had been something positive to dwell on. Kagi was kind, but a simple creature. Nikita would gladly take him over Cain. The look in that B'alam's eyes were beyond cruel and only bested by that of the one who held the leach. Nikita hated both of them. They may have saved her life from a beast, but they have proven to be quite the monsters themselves. But these cubs, they were innocent. They were still kind. Feisty, but they were nice to be around.

"Yeah, he wasn't going to fall-Kahgie!" A little brown cub came to the defense of her friend, peering over the large body of Kagi. Her red ridged tail whipped behind her as she looked to their b'alam guard. Dark eyes shot over to looked to Nic, and a playful grin rested on her maw.

"besides, he would have been okay-Even if he doesn't have wings." Fenrirs spoke stubbornly, her little pink tongue shot out at the other cub teasingly. Just because she didn't know how to use her wings, doesn't mean she couldn't make fun of Nic for not having any. She was the only one in the group to have beautiful feather wings.

As Nikita approached, Titus hopped around Kagi's body and she bounced over to the bigger Nahtlil. Showing her the side of her body. Her tail shot up behind her as she playfully challenged the teen. She had almost 'won' last time....

"No argue! Too small to pick up bigger cub from over the side!" Kagi countered Titus' sass with what he thought was sound logic. His ears perked forward while he leaned forward with his chin pointed out. For some reason he felt that made anything seem more serious. Kagi was proud of his chin...

"Now come back here, Rhol! No more edge falling!"

The red Tahill puffed up slightly to show how serious he was. Though, surely all three of the company present was aware of Kagi's soft interior. Mostly. He was aggressive and thick-headed, but he seemed to enjoy watching the two cubs and the adolescent. They at least talked to him. The big black dark b'alam hardly said more than "watch these".

"You play and learn fightings, fine fine fine... but no cliff." Kagi chimed into Titus' call for a game. It made him feel important to give them orders and tell them what they could and could not do.

Nicodemus released a long sigh before he scoot closer to Nikita. His tail lowered near the ground and curled over his haunches.

"Kiki is here though. We're safe...." He protested returning to Kagi's side (who didn't seem too pleased, but said nothing before he sat back on his haunches and just watched).

However, as Titus begun her playful romp, Nic's ears perked up and all his attention moved to her. A wide smile stretched across his maw. His tail perked up to make a "c" over his back. His paws planted firmly on the ground and spread wide while he lifted from the ground and readied for an assault.

"Common' Ti! You got her!!"

Of course he wanted to join in, and he would do so if it looked as if she were going to be bested. But Nicodemus always wanted to watch to see how she would do on her own. Titus was the best fighter he had ever known! Even Kagi was too scared to fight her! Well, that's how he saw it anyways. Kagi never really wanted to roughhouse for too long. Especially when the big black Tahill was around.

A grin stretched across Nikita's maw. This was about the only time she could feel distracted from her nightmares. When everything retreated from her focus and she could stay in the moment.

Nikita lowered her front half to the ground and braced herself for Titus' impact. Her toes spread wide, but she held her claws in their sheaths. Her tail shot up than arched over her back. Than a soft trilling noise gently rattled her throat.

She nudged Nicodemus with her hind leg, a friendly coax if anything.

A soft cub mew 'roared' from Titus as she lept toward the grown teen. Tail remained poised and rattled behind her. Little ridge on her back puffed even more in the excitement. All the squabbling the Kagi made went ignored. She thought it pointless to argue with him for something she already knew. Nicodemus was going to be okay, Nikita had been there. Though, had her wings not been clipped she would have offered to help Nicodemus herself. However there was no need to let her thoughts go there, as it didn't happen-and wouldn't...

----

Off in the distance on a higher ridge a purple pelted adorned and regal Tahtil watched the interaction of the other b'alam they kept captive. A breath left Morning Star as he looked at the red DarkB'alam, he meant well-it was just a pity the Weaver didn't bless him with more....thoughts. The Weaver was truly a cruel being. Morning Star turned himself from the slight of the others before it became known he had seen the exchange of play. The Leader was just 'checking' up on those that were in his clan. It had taken some time, but they where growing...and in time, they would be just as loyal to him as they where to each other.
