His claws caught her in the side and Leo almost winced, forgetting herself. "Well, sometimes better than others," she huffed with a laugh and a grin, moving her hand from her side to get ready for another punch. This one was more focused than her last attack had been, which was good, because that glancing blow had been pretty terrible, honestly.

"Thanks though, I appreciate it," she beamed at him, shaking some hair out of her face and getting ready for his counter-attack.

Xavier was growing more tired as time passed, but he was still trying to keep going and do the best that he could. Leo was at least laughing with him and not at him, which he much appreciated.

His next swing missed entirely.

Leo went for a kick after his failed attack, putting as much into it as she could. The battle was starting to take its toll on her; already her movements were slower than they'd been when they had started, but she didn't mind - this had been far more of a challenge than the other spars she'd had lately and she enjoyed every minute of it.
