It was one of those rare times when Gene was on the prowl, sleepless and angry. Every day there seemed to be more and more students telling stories of Humans in white coats accosting them in the Haunted House, the talk of weaponization and willingly working alongside the Hunters.

Gene had seen weaponization - even felt what it would be like. She hated it, and she hated the creeple who created it; who used it so freely, with reckless abandon. Because to bot the Hunters and the Horsemen, Halloween was expendable, a resource to be strip mined for soldiers and slaves.

The Haunted House often greeted her when the Doppelganger was in this sort of mood, and it always gave her a good outlet. Genevieve could only hope it would deliver yet again as she stepped through a parlor door.

"Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours."

It wasn't that she was talking to herself -- she wasn't, because Harle was always there -- but to anyone watching Paige, it probably looked like she was.

Life had been the same s**t day after day. Sometimes she'd see Cee, and sometimes she wouldn't. She most assuredly would get high and ******** around with damn near anyone who was interested in her spare time, but Paige had taken to working extra shifts and long hours just because everything kind of seemed to just... piss her off.

It was why she'd gone on crawls through the haunted house. They'd all been relatively uneventful, but Paige had high hopes that this time things would be ******** different.

Ah, and the House delivered indeed. The fact that this one was talking with herself was odd, but when were Hunters not a little off. They were Human, after all, and Humans were very strange creatures - they didn't even let their meat get all ripe and spoiled.

"Hey, you." The ghost stopped in mid air, feet from the Huntress, glowering at her. Obviously, Gene had a problem. "What do you think you're doing here?" She accused, clawed hands resting on her hips.
