Large, shaggy blue paws drifted through the snow, carrying an even larger figure amongst the boughs of trees. Finally, they reached an open patch. In the middle of the snowy clearing stood a large glass dome. One could almost see directly into the dome itself, if it weren't for the faint glow of the sunset. The large blue B'alam padded up to the glass dome and pushed open a door, stepping inside quietly. He shook his pelt free of any snow on it before venturing further into his home. D'romida lived in near isolation, only leaving to gather food and other supplies from the nearby villages and towns. He preferred his isolation to living in large populations. Besides, living out here was the best way to see the stars!

He looked up through the top of the dome. Already he could see a few stars twinkling into existence. Far off was the moon, beautiful as ever, especially in its waxing crescent position, meaning soon enough there would be a new moon. He loved it when there was a new moon, for that was when the night sky was the darkest, and it was easiest to see the stars. Moving further into his home, the B'alam placed a bag full of items down on a nearby table before rustling through it. He had bought some food and needed to put it away. Once that was done, he loaded up his bag with a telescope and some other items before setting off outside again.

Astrid strolled amongst the snow-covered fields humming to herself. She looked around the night sky happily, it was a nice night for a stroll and she was taking the opportunity to take advantage of it and she was sure as heck taking it. She blinked as she came across a glass dome, how peculiar. She approached the glass dome curiously.

He didn't get very far before he almost ran smack dab into a figure. Catching himself before he did, the larger B'alam found himself face to face with a slightly smaller female. He eyed her curiously. What was she doing out here? They were rather far for someone to have taken a stroll and found his home. This was more like a hike. His dark eyes took in the figure. Light blue pelt that faded into dark blue on her flank, and a large white crescent moon on her rump. A few white swirls adorned her pelt here and there, and she had amythest colored eyes.

Tilting his head a bit curiously, he eyeballed her as he said, "My my, what do we have here? What are you doing all the way out here, miss?" As much as he disliked interaction, he wouldn't turn away a B'alam and leave them in the wilderness. He would at least make conversation and help her back home if needed.

Astrid stopped abruptly herself and glanced at the male that she almost collided with. She blinked at the male standing in front of her, the male was a teal color with dark blue fluff around his neck that was dotted with stars here and there and had dark dark blue eyes with light blue accents on his ears and around his eyes. "Uh...sorry...I was taking a evening stroll..or hike how ever you want to call it" she said.

He frowned a bit, brow furrowing curiously. Who takes an evening hike into the mountains? Well, he wasn't quite far into the mountains, but that didn't matter. He took a step back and ruffled his shaggy shoulders, mane shaking away some flakes of snow that had started to fall. "Very interesting. Most don't go for evening... strolls or even hikes up this way. So excuse me for asking. But unfortunately I have some important studying I need to get to. Can you find your way back home?" He cast a glance her way as he skirted around her, pausing to look back over his shoulder to see if she was leaving.

D'romida wasn't a rude or uncultered B'alam. He just wasn't used to seeing people up this way. Especially as night falls.

"well, you aren't necessarily, mr nice guy either" she told him sensing he didn't really want her up this way. "For your information, I enjoy stargazing as much as you do" she said and turned away before heading down the way she came. She was not pleased with his first impression. She would need to explore some more and find her own place to stargaze. She was niether impressed or pleased with his tone.

D'romida raised an eyebrow. Did he really sound that rude? Well, it did not matter to him in the long run. The less B'alam he had around, the better. He did not much like having company, and quite enjoyed watching the stars alone. Then she mentioned stargazing. Had he said something about it? He flicked an ear curiously as he looked down at his bag. Ah! It seemed his telescope was sticking out slightly. That must have been how she knew! Still, it did not matter. She was upset, and was already walking away.

D'romida shrugged his shaggy shoulders, unfazed by her reaction. He had not meant to sound rude, nor had he realized he sounded that way. Pushing off through the snow, he headed towards his favorite spot. A larger clearing where the trees bent a bit backwards, leaving the sky wide open. Smiling to himself, he set about putting everything together for his stargazing. A large blanket was spread across the snow, made of special fabric so as to not soak everything up beneath it. D'romida splayed out his pages across the blanket and quickly sorted them before finding new, clean parchment, quill, and ink. Next came the telescope, which he set up swiftly.

Night had fallen long ago, and he wanted to make sure he got in as much stargazing as he could. Tonight was a relatively clear night, thankfully, so that would help. Leaning into his telescope, he adjusted it so it zoomed in on one of the nearest stars. After staring at it for a few moments, he calculated its position and set about writing some numbers down on his parchment, taking down its location in the sky. Slowly, one by one, he was naming stars and constellations all on his own.
