A small smile of polite amusement darted across the nantlil's face at the too obvious mimic of her own sound. Scoff and laugh all he wanted. It would become apparent later who the real fool here was. Which made her smile grow larger and fill more with her own amusement.
"Depends how long you want me to stay around," came her response, tinged with the amusement plastered all over her face. Now she was simply making fun of him. Hey, if he was so determined to make a fool of himself, who was she to disagree with that? "Since I am the one controlling it and all." She gave a little laugh before glancing at the sun to judge where it sat in the sky. Sunset was still a ways off. Shouldn't be for another couple of hours, at least. Could be more.
Prisca settled back down on the ground, tugging her forelegs in under her chest and making a little ball with a head. May as well get comfortable, she'd be here a while.
Closing her eyes, she added, "Couple of hours. Not like you will be able to watch it go down, anyway."

Not even bothering to crack open a lid, Prisca ignored once more the sound the tahtll made. Outward, she remained still as a rock. Inward, she was already gloating. It was possible for more than one B'alam to move by the light she cast, but it was made primarily for her. She doubted it would even hurt his eyes. Unless she shone it directly at him at close range.
That, however, was still a ways off. With nothing further to say on either of their parts, they settled down in their own ways. One asleep and one merely listening and thinking. It was too early for sleep. She'd be up all night if she slept now. And that wasn't what she wanted. It was an annoyance being away after dark and having to rely on the smaller form of light she provided for herself.
Hours passed in sielnce, broken only momentarily by the presence or sound of another animal. Prisca could tell by the steady breathing that the bigger B'alam was probably asleep. Not surprising. Judging by how much the sun seemed to hurt him, he obviously wasn't meant to be awake during the day.
As the sun ducked behind the mountains in the distance, Prisca opened her eyes and yawned. Her bones cracked as she rose and stretched, having barely moved since she had first laid down so many hours ago. It didn't feel as long as she had expected. Maybe she had dosed off at some point after all. Moving a little ways away, she sat down with her back turned to the tahtll and flicked her tail at his head to wake him up. The further the sun sank, the brighter a pool of light around her glowed.

Prisca continued to stare away from the tahtll, watching the stars as they twinkled into existence. It was the only good thing about the nightfall, in her opinion. The stars. So many of them, just sparkling in the darkness above as her light sparkled in the darkness below. Then there was the moon. So large and bright, like the orb on her horn. But not bright enough to help her see without her smaller one.
After a while, she turned around, meeting his gaze with an annoyed one of her own, brows furrowed in an almost glare. He was very much the bark, but little bite.
"Was anything you have said and done necessary?" she retorted, turning her body all the way around to sit facing him. No longer even the least bit afraid of him, Prisca's voice took on an edge to it. She titled her head. "Believe me now about the sun? This is my sun."

"Oh?" the Light nantlil asked in obvious amusement, the edge in her voice gone to be replaced by a light tone, almost a giggle. She titled her head back to its usual rotation, a smile now on her lips. Almost a mocking smile. Because no matter what he said, she had won. He was wrong. And he knew it. She knew he did. It was as clear as the stars were above. The sun was gone and she sat there, bathed in her own little light. The sun had gone down as it does every day. Not by her magic. Had it been her magic, she wouldn't have had them wait so long. The light on her own, that was her magic. Her only magic.
"Is that so? Nor is it yours."
Getting up, Prisca moved closer, making a circle around him with the tip of her tail held a few inches above the ground. She came to stop to one side and turned just enough to comfortably look at him without turning her head around much.
"I could always leave. You got what you wanted. My blood. And your precious darkness. I got what I wanted. To make you look a fool. I may as well go my separate way."

"No, nothing is," Prisca agreed, tail laying flat on the ground in a semi circle. There was still a little smile on her face. SHe was still pleased over her victory. She assumed, if she ever saw him again, she would remain pleased over this victory. He took something precious from her and she made him look a fool. They were even. For now.
"And my days shall be more peaceful without your growling and sulking," she retorted, the edge returning to her voice. He was insufferable. He really was. It would be her luck that the first of her species she found was a stubborn, ignorant tahtll. It was a wise thing in this world to accept your defeat. For you couldn't be right all the time. And insisting that you were or ignoring the fact you weren't just wasn't sensible. She hoped one day he would come to realize this or he wouldn't get very far in life.
"Good luck finding someone else to be a willing donor," she added, smirking at him before turning back around to face the opposite direction of where he was. "You'd best spend this nightfall trying to find a dark place to hide from the light." Without anything else left to say to him, Prisca broke into a run to get as far away as possible so she, too, could find a nice place to rest until morning.
