Caelus: Roman god of the sky, known in Greek mythology as Uranus
Hercel: A shortening of William Herschel’s last name. Mr. Herschel was a famous astronomer known for discovering a whole lot of things, one of them being Uranus.

Caelus is a very inquisitive young troll who enjoys discovering the unknown. His insatiable curiosity has driven him to extensive explorations of the night sky through his telescope, which readily occupies large amounts of his night-time hours. Unfortunately Caelus is also plagued by chronic insomnia, and sleeps very little during the day. This has caused several complications for Caelus, including a strong tendency to forget things. This has led him to extensively organize and document his forays into the night sky; he has several scrapbooks devoted to pictures of the various celestial object that he’s observed, as well as several incomplete star charts that Caelus made himself. His inability to sleep through the day has also left many long hours unoccupied (astronomy cannot be done during the day), and Caelus has taken up playing various video games during the day. Caelus’s midblood status has given him something of a ‘white-middle-class-male’ attitude toward the hemospectrum; his aspirations as an astronomer have never been hindered by his blood color, and thus never really gives it much thought.
Strengths:
Curiosity: Caelus is intensely curious, and loves the thrill of discovery. This has lead to his interest in and passion for astronomy.
Methodical/ Organized: Caelus has had to become a very organized person in order to compensate for his forgetfulness. He puts lots of time and effort into keeping his hive orderly, mostly because if he did not, he would never be able to find anything!
Flaws:
Forgetful: Consistent lack of sleep has affected Caelus’s mental faculties somewhat, and causes him to frequently forget important things, where he put something down or an important date, for instance.
Irritable: Not entirely due to his insomnia (although certainly not helped by it) Caelus has very little patience for thing he finds annoying, and will often snap and lash out at other trolls for seemingly minor offences.
Weapon: Preferring something simple and effective, Caelus’s prefered weapon is a pistol.
Appearance: Caelus has short, straight hair that he keeps tidy. His horns Protrude straight out of his head, then turn sharply at an angle, like so:
Home: Rather than build his hive in the large cities, where civilization has stolen the light of the stars from the heavens, Caelus chose to build his hive in the Busthind mountains, where he could better observe the objects of his fascination.
Lusus: Caelus’s lusus, Hektunckle, is a fantastical creature known as a Hekatonkheires; a giant with fifty heads and a corresponding set of fifty pairs of hands. Hektunckle is a very mother bear-ish lusus; highly protective and aggressively helpful, If they sense that Caelus needs something, they will seek out, find, and take (by force, if necessary) whatever it is. Caelus often has to work very hard to contain their antics, else they would cause enormous amounts of trouble for the local community. While they are often aggressive, Hektunckle has a soft side too, they are very concerned for Caelus’s well-being, and grow especially concerned when he does not sleep for a long period of time. When this happens, they will try very hard to put Caelus to sleep, often humming or attempting to sing various Alternian lullabies, although this method tends to make matters worse.
