Why? Why couldn't I finish it! My research paper was due. I've done some over the past as well as essays but why! evil I am so going to fail and bye bye goes my finaxial aid. My presentation today... The opportunity to at least help to push me up from my essay....I couldn't utter a single word I was mute and when I did talk it was a bunch of ummm. I hate it ! I have no control of my over shyness timid self insecureness I hate it hate that side of me. Weak! I wish I was different cry there's been so many times it because of it that had stopped me from doing things. It why I don't have friends why Ive never even dated not even friends who are boys crying I'm so quiet when I speak its like no one hears me or sees me. I need to do everything myself cuz no one else will and always alone Sigh I'm done with this I give up

Don't give up! You just need to practice practice practice until you start to feel more comfortable. Maybe even record yourself presenting it so that you can see yourself and grow confidence! It's not weak at all. I'm sorry you didn't finish it and I wish you luck. whee

I feel the same. I just talk really fast. But I'm incredibly shy and sometimes I stumble over words or pause stupidly. It helps, honestly, to think yolo because this is your only chance at life and you should just toughen up and take what it throws. I really do hate the term yolo, but it helps me. ^^

I'm only human for caring. But honestly it goes far deeper then just shyness. Its a big jumble knot. If only I could change my past. I know I need to step up I'm 19 for crying out loud yet I can't... speak correctly to another person that what fustrated me the most. I can't even get a job my interviews I stutter shake turn crimson I just want to jump of a bridge or something emotion_facepalm

I have fairly bad social anxiety, too. I know that on my college campus at least there are group therapy sessions (I've been to one focused on coping skills, as well as just the general one for anxiety/depression) and they do help somewhat to validate your concerns. like, I feel that if I am going to group therapy for anxiety and no one is kicking me out, then I must really have anxiety and am not making it up. maybe check about that on your campus?
oh, and I've had a recent similar experience too, in my english class half of my grade was a research paper (due during finals week), and I turned it in three days late because I was convinced no matter how much time and effort i put into it I would fail. turns out teacher was very understanding.
