NAME OF CLASS: Arts and Crafts 101 PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Zixil Braxton
General information: The Arts and Crafts room is tucked away in the corner - one way in and out, which is just how the teacher likes it. The classroom looks normal enough from the outside, with its standard door and numberplate (with an added addendum by the teacher, his name and the class title added on a piece of Muck Tape). The inside, however, looks like someone found all of the weird, eclectic stuff within a five mile radius, ate it, and then vomited it all up. The teacher has either completely lost his mind, or is trying way, way too hard. The cabinets that line the walls are partially filled with beginner art supplies: slime-based paints, earwax crayons, and...glitter, a thing so evil that it can be known by no other name.
Mechanics: Your Most Excellent Professor isn't going to fill your head with crazy ideas. That's all up to you!
Upon entering the class, roll 1d100 to determine your Muse Level (ML).
Muse Level 1-20 Woah, you can't make art with a Muse Level this low! Go stare longingly at your first crush, or listen to emotional music, or cry it out! We can't have you making anything that's worth less than 20 silver seeds beneath your actual capabilities.
Muse Level 21-50 Did you dip yourself in paint and roll your face over the canvas? That's not going to be acceptable. Nobody will want to buy this. Or look at it. Not even kind of.
Muse Level 51-80 Looks like you might have the right idea. Go ahead and give it a shot. I guess the worst thing that could happen is you ruin everything, but that's okay.
Muse Level 81-100 Got a real overachiever here! Creativity is oozing from your pores (seriously clean that stuff up please)!
If you roll 1-50, you will need to make another attempt. A roll of 51-100 allows you to proceed. The above information correlating to your ML gives you a good idea of how your student will be approaching this assignment.
If you succeeded in developing a passable Muse Level, you will then need to roll a 1d10 to determine to overall success of your drawing/painting/sculpture etc. Feel free to pick whatever medium you'd like!
1-3 You really poured yourself into this one, but the Professor isn't quite feeling it. Take it home and pin it on your wall, because that's all you're getting. (Fail. You'll have to make another attempt!) 4-9 You paid careful attention to details, color schemes, and - most importantly - marketability. Professor Braxton smashes a sickly note to your body with a sloppy "A" written on it, because ruining the art would be a travesty. As far as you can tell, you've done a good thing. (Pass!) 10 You are a prodigy! This thing belongs in a museum! Or the home of the highest bidder! Your artwork will be displayed in front of the entire class. Hope you're not shy. (SUPER-PASS!)
You must RP your student creating their...well, whatever they make.
Bonus Mechanics: •If you include a DRAWN representation of the piece of art that your student creates, you can automatically add 2 to your success roll, ultimately bringing up their final score. These drawings do not have to be anything fantastic, and can be as detailed or non-detailed as you want.
•Any student who is able to use magic to create illusions can roll 1d4 to determine how amazing their artwork appears. Which is what matters. If you roll even, you can add 1 point. If you roll odd, no points can be added. This can not be combined with the 2 points you can add when including an image. •Any student who lacks dexterity (lookin' at you, claw-handed monsters) can roll 1d4 to determine their ability to talk Professor Braxton into believing that the piece of art's concept is going over his head and is, in fact, a true masterpiece. If you roll even, you can add 1 point. If you roll odd, no points can be added. This can not be combined with the 2 points you can add when including an image.
Each visit to the classroom has the potential to span multiple posts due to the amount of dice rolls. You can interact with other students, try to steal their concepts - whatever you'd like to play out!

Maybe it was something in the water? Or the fact she woke up in her pin'ed state? Which, for her, was an extremely odd state to awaken in while in her dorm. Even odder... she felt... good. Rested, energetic. She got out of her nest of blankets and pillows without issue, stretching and feeling like a million silver seeds.
Had she eaten anything weird before bed? Drank any strange liquids? Hm. Nothing came to mind, but as she padded around her dorm room there was no denying how... fresh that morning felt. Languid, clothing was plucked from storage spots. Accessories from displays. She dressed slowly, trying to keep her noise to a minimal. Her minis slept still, curled up and content to take over the spot her body had just warmed for them. Her books were left along the rocky edge of her nest. Not quite abandoned, but unused the night before. Another object joined them, one that caught her eye then. Claws clicking against the smooth rock beneath her feet, she crouched by her nest and grabbed up the object.
Her eyephone. The gift from Tavi. She flicked on the screen, frowning a tad to see the battery was so low. Till she actually looked at the rest of the screen's contents. The music player was on--or rather, halted. Her limited playlist had come to an end, and dimly, the dragoness could recall setting up a song to play as she tried to relax... and read her book.
Looked as if she ended up leaving one for the other.
Dwindling for a moment before plugging her phone to charge it, she considered the switch her habits. Coincidence, then, that she awaken feeling so calm and refreshed after a night of music? Music calms the savage beast, as the saying goes... a thought that made Agsil snort before returning to collect the things necessary for her classes that day.
She had extra time to spare that morning. A luxury she hadn't had in quite some time. Again her eyes flickered to the device. Beyond the texts Tavi would send her, and the music she was now slowly becoming more accustomed to listening to... technology was no friend of the dragon's. Her preference for hand writing messages, for drawing pictures instead of snapping them, was too deeply ingrained in her. She'd eyes the tech other students used so freely with disdain.
Perhaps... not all technology was created equal. Some had use after all.
Smiling, she slung a single-strap cloth bag over her shoulder, books and notebooks for the first few classes tucked inside. Before leaving, she grabbed her phone back up--along with the earbugs she'd gotten to listen to her music in study periods. She had something to test in her arts class.

The professor had let her stay this time--"Now don't you look better! Feeling inspired? Ah-ah-ah, don't tell me a thing! Put it to paper!"--much to Agsil's relief. She did feel better that day. Relaxed, content. Inspired. After checking she had permission from the professor for one outlet of her inspiration--and source, really--Agsil moved to her her seat. Grabbing large piece of paper from the supply closet as she passed, of course. Once she was actually seated and her bag stored under the she took out her phone and earbugs. Slipping them into her ears, she flicked through the screens of her phone until her music player kicked on.
Eyeing the paper critically, letting her mind wander. Drawing ink up under one of her claws, far more than would sometimes drip from under the claw, she began to drag the digit over the paper. Textured brown was marred with curving lines of black, smudged by the press of her second finger pressed with the pad of her fingertip to the paper as the first drew the ink lines. First one curving line. Then another. A third. A fourth. No defined figure was formed. But smudges. Curves, globs, shapes. She followed these patterns time and time again, increasing the ink flow or decreasing it. Sometimes she would use the residue on her middle finger to create more, softer smudges. The paper darkened in the center.
A figure began to emerge from the ink stains.
Layers of smudges and faded ink formed fur, formed shadows and muscles and tendons. Darker, solid lines of ink--no smudging this time--began to strike across the page. Agsil had to rise to her feet for this one, one hand supporting her as she leaned over her work. The other began to move, quick, intent strikes across the page. Curves formed. Bit by bit, lines and soft corners. There were no defining features of eyes or accessories. Only darker shades to show the dips where the facial features would be.
A smile playing on her lips again, her claws began to move again. Quick, wrist-flick spirals into curves upward. Finish on a snap down to the spiral. Simple, childish symbols of fire. Meant to connect to the personality of the creature depicted. Split, fluffy tails curled behind the creature, whom seemed to be caught in mid-air, in the middle of a pounce. Front legs were curled towards the body, hind legs pointed more towards the ground it lifted from. Fire dance around the body and tails. Ears perked forward.
Laughing a bit to herself, she scrawled out the kitsune's name.
Tavi
Her own signature was jotted down in the lefthand corner.
As the professor made his rounds and finally came to Agsil's workspace, she noted an air of disappointment around him. He'd been hoping to see more detailed work from her, though what she had before her was good work. Agsil took the critiques and complements with a smile to all. The piece wasn't for the professor... or a perfect grade.
It was meant to be a thank you to a little friend.
....but she was still grateful to walk out of that class with a solid grade, nonetheless.
Pass the Class Rolled 2, adding +2 to final roll via drawn representation of Agsil's art piece. Brings final roll score to 4 points, which is a Pass! <3
