Mathias had been spending a lot of time, unsurprisingly, in the gym as of late. He was becoming frustrated that, despite all of his efforts, he did not appear to be getting any stronger in anyway. It hadn't really occurred to him that maybe his strengths might lay elsewhere, and not just in the physical. Fighting was his life, and proving his strength to everyone was the ultimate.
Practicing against one of the many dummies set up in the gym, the wolpertinger was stripped down to casual wear; a sleeveless white shirt over a lithe but muscular frame and black sweatpants. His feet, large, clawed, and covered in silvery tanned fur were bare. Scars criss crossed his arms and what portion of his chest was visible, as well as across the back of his neck, though his silver hair had grown out enough in the past few months to mostly hide that from view. The wolpertinger himself, however, had not grown at all. Standing at a mere 4'8", he might have actually been smaller then the dummy that he practiced against.
None of that made him look any less fierce when he went running at it, growling, striking at it with his claws. However, there was only so much one could learn from battling against a stationary object, and as he stopped for a break, red eyes wandered around the room at large, searching for a victim suitable sparring partner, his long ears twitching and swiveling above his head.

Tanita walked out of the girl's locker room, her hair tied up in a tight braided bun to keep it out of the way, and harder to snag on things. She wasn't wearing her usual armor-dress. She had on a light weight pair of pants, loose enough to move with her but fitted enough to stay on, and a workout tank. She glanced around the room, examining it's set up. This was her first time here since she'd moved in. She hadn't been doing much exercising, other then running to classes or flying, and she was beginning to be annoyed with herself. She didn't want to get out of shape after all! She noticed the other student, but didn't pay him much attention at the moment, as she was more worried about figuring out where everything was.
She noted the pool, with a touch of displeasure. No, that definitely wouldn't do for a fire dragon like herself. Sadly, really. She'd always wondered what swimming was like, but her mother kept saying it was bad for her, so she wouldn't risk it. She sighed and continued to examine the equipment. Finally, she nodded and headed towards a dummy. She figured she could get some kicking and punching practices in, so that she'd at least begin to get back into a fighting trim. Her only wish was to know if the dummies were fireproof... She'd love to get some practice with her fire breathing. It'd be useful if she could make it less of a 'I'M MAD EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF ME BURN' and more of a 'That thing there. FIRE.' type situation.
In fact, she had a feeling that's a large part of what her mother wanted her to learn....

It didn't take long for Mathias's eyes to lock onto a target, though it had been difficult as he had kept his gaze lowered just in case his eyes accidentally landed on a ghoul rather then a boil. He liked to think his little..."condition"...was improving somewhat, and that he had less to worry about when encountering those of the opposite gender, but still, he would rather be safe then sorry.
And so it was that he instead found himself honing in on a pair of legs, following them while they wandered around the gym, until they finally stopped in front of a dummy.
Deciding it couldn't hurt to ask, he let out a sharp whistle through his fangs, both of which were becoming quite long in the past couple of weeks. "Hey you there!" He called out to her. "Vould might you be interested in spar?" He asked, arms coming up to cross over his chest.
"Unless content to beat on dummies instead. They are better for veak creeple, I am supposing."
