I like that song. That said, I also liked a song I heard by a band whose singer made pig noises instead of actuall singing.

Now, the essential one? I think it'd have to be Desert Island Discs themetune, it sums up waves rolling lazily onto a golden sanded beach whilst I nap peacefully under shading palm leaves.
The book'd have to be something like... uh... a favoured story of mine. The Thirteen And A Half Lives Of Captain Bluebear, great book.

The essential would be something like a sack of seeds.
