The false Nirva continued to mimic and block every attack. A dance that took from the sky to the ground, axes flashing in hand and through the air. Hunter nor Horsemen could land a proper blow it seemed. Both where frustrated, both where smug when they landed even a scratch. Face to face they stood, anger and disgust painted across their faces. Nirva flipped her axes one last time running forward to meet her copy in battle once more but the world had other plans.
A sudden crack sent the world tilting, ground below became a slope and then nothing at all as the two tumbled into the grey mess of the Horsemen's former home. Two heaps of confused and stunned Nirva stood up, both looking about taking in what was going around them, the fog was growing thicker. The hunter faltered her eyes away from Nirva, the original took the chance and pivoted quickly putting a heeled boot into the others head, for now at least the hunter she let live would be knocked out.
"Now", commanded the Ancient of Death, "Give me your distortion crystals now."
The order tore her attention away from the chaos around her, Nirva could hear the voices, some familiar some not all screaming out the same desire they always did. Home. Always about home. Reaching to her neck she snapped the cord on the necklace that held her crystal, eying the blue gem in thought. It had been a source of power in these strange dark times, but those times might finally come to pass. Turning to the Elder Death she tossed her crystal forward with a rest, a strange weight seeming to lift off her shoulders as the gem was consumed.
"...and now we wait." She whispered turning to face the oncoming fog.

And here Shik thought he could enjoy a kill for more than a minute. The very idea of giving up his crystal threatened the only method he knew of keeping Shaheen sane (or at least, as sane as she had been originally), and as much of an a** he might be, he wasn't vindictive. Was that how Death wanted to play this? Give them a ray of hope and then decide it was better off somewhere else?
Shik snorted and pulled out the dagger the Rider had given him, eying his gem in the slot. Death had given him this weapon, so perhaps he had other means to make up for it if he couldn't find a way to power the dagger. Still, was it worth the price?
. . . He damn well hoped so.
Shik chucked it over with a dark sigh, bristling at the new environment and wishing very much to just blow it all away with his wings. Or cut it away. That would be nice. Because frankly, while he might not be infected, he was really ******** tired about hearing of whispers.

Watching the War horseman throw his dagger over, Lifen felt rather split about it - on one hand, it would help the attempts of Death, but at the other, she felt so much more comfortable holding the weapon, and the sacrifice that had come with it.
But, after a few moments thought, she willingly chucked it after him, watching the teal-tinted weapon go toward the pile.
She could only hope it was for the better.

Erintis stood staring she had frozen completely when she saw herself as a hunter. She couldn't believe her eyes and her entire being just stopped. Whimpering as she felt the ground shake she hadn't managed to land a single blow but then again neither had the other her.
The ground shaking and cracking pulled her completely back to reality as she heard Death's command, "Give me your distortion crystals now." Without second thought she managed to get hers to Death without any other complications. Apparently she followed instructions better then she followed the whole battling thing.

Guowei wanted to ask questions, but before he could, he found himself falling, dropped through a hole that had opened up in the ground all of a sudden. As he tried to regain his composure, he became increasingly aware of his new surroundings, the black and white tinted world fitting the descriptions of insanity that he had heard over the past week since his arrival.
There was no wall, but he felt like he was backing up against one; the voices were confusing and overwhelming... Like he could be swallowed up by them if he wasn't careful.
Where was Death? Where was the ancient who brought them to this place-
He didn't hesitate at giving up his distortion crystal; unlike most of the horsemen, he only had his for a little while, and wasn't too attached to it. Besides, there was no reason why he shouldn't trust Death, especially since he did say something about being able to partially restore the islands... And a little hope is better than none at all.

It was enough. It was more than enough, as the Distortion Crystals, each and every single one forced the Insanity back in pulses and bursts, gathering forward until -
- White. Everything was white.
And then sheer black.
They were staring at a wall, no walls around them, arranged in a perfect circle, impossibly high. Where they stood was a single portal, a glowing red portal that felt familiar, Halloween for those who wished to retreat or return for the time being. The portal at the other end in the Lost Clans Sanctuary would lead all horsemen back here. The greys had faded mostly from within the walls but outside, they could still feel it, they could sometimes - occasionally - always - hear the voices that called and rattled and spoke of home.
"They won't stay like this," the Horsemen of Death said, almost conversationally, "one day these walls will fall, even Distortion does not last forever. That's why it's your job to make sure you save your own islands before it does. Every single crack, crevice, hole in the wall as it threatens to crumble represents time moving forward. You hold the key to not fighting, no, Insanity is beyond fighting, to purifying the Insanity, and of course of reclaiming your old lands, step by step."
Click. He looked at his pocketwatch. "Well, that's it for me, my time is up. The rest is yours, after all, I believe the children are our future. I'll check in occasionally, in the meanwhile, I think you have a lot to catch up on. Charon, Medea, if you would so kindly."
He bowed, deeply, and then was gone - leaving the pile of Distortion crystals behind. They were faded now, Distortion used up, but still very much awake and alive. Charon picked a burnished red one from the pile, rubbing it a few times on his shirt before sticking it back into his brooch clasp. "My Lord says there is must we must do if we want to reclaim our old lands. His word is the law." He spoke in a certain way that was extremely stilted, if he, like a lot of the horsemen, had forgotten that the languages they spoke had evolved over time even when they had not. "We will, as one, move forward to purify the Insanity. The Distortion crystals are the key, and we must endeavor, on this long hard nights, when the moon is above its zenith purest in the sky like unfiltered snow, when..."
He carried on for a bit like this and it was very possible that Medea did a sort of motion of placing her palm very slowly on her face.
"Now, arise!" Charon dramatically flared his cape. "We are soldiers once more! Let us begin our attack on Insanity!" ATTACK ON INSANITY ATTACK ON INSANITYGo to this thread and read the following rules and guidelines! When you are ready you may now begin patrolling this new area and fighting off Insanity Titans. - All INSANITY TITAN BATTLES will happen in THIS SUBFORUM. Once again read the rules accordingly!
