The Amazing Kaas
But still... Making Broadside Railgun Hv. Rail Rifles with S8 is really, really a drill to the butt.. Why not just take away the option for them to have skyfire or interceptor when they take the Hv Rail Rifles..?
In fairness heavy rail rifles are still not to be underestimated with their high range and power. It also a reason to take a railhead again which I used to find pointless when I was able to take two broadsides and get much more efficient firepower for the same price. They nerfed disruption pods but that was on the cards. I find that the main blow i've taken to my army list is the option to take +1 bs on my suits. Targeting arrays no longer exist which used to be a staple system for my suits and while my commander benefits from a better statline by default than he used to, my other suits aren't so lucky.
On the upside, my Ethereal became worth using for more than just lols with his new ruleset, supporting fire is a nice new rule which I feel suits the Tau playstyle and background a lot. Overall points reshuffle leaves my army costing about the same as it did before. Vespids are a bit more viable with their increased range.
Overall this is a good codex. Nothing major has changed in my eyes, it has simply been modernised and given a bit of a facelift. When I made wishes for this codex all I asked for were rules that weren't redundant and a general tidy up and that's what I got, so I'm pretty happy.

Fun Factoid: Gun drones attached to vehicles can fire overwatch and supporting fire due to the fact that they fire as if they were passengers in the vehicle

I like the idea of drones that don't come with one set with f/e Devilfish, but can be attached, like Bigass Drone thah came out with new Pathfinders.
Gun drones also don't count as kill points if you detatch them anymore. The kill point is for the vehicle only, drones or no drones.

Don't you know? That is the way to the Greater Good!
I found my army got a bit cheaper after update. Granted, I'm pulling double duty with both figuring out new price costs vs. old ones as well as ripping out a new 1500 list for my LGS's league tomorrow. But, hell, normally I wouldn't be fielding three troops AND two heavies AND two HQs in 1500 points. Man, I like the new Fireblade
