There's this guy I really like but I'm too afraid ..

So there's this guy I like and I already confessed to him last summer.
Except that right after that I ran away.
Nothing really happened after that and he didn't say anything to me.

We don't have any classes together but we do run into each here and there.
I get so nervous that I pretend he doesn't exist.
I completely avoid him when we're near each other, and I'm always mute around him.
But I get really jealous of the girls who talk to him.

Somehow whenever I do get enough courage to say something things just don't go the right way.

How do I become friends with him?
And if it's possible I kind of want to ask him out as well..
