What a great quote. It is a large part of Durill's young philosophy, and puts drive to his efforts to build up an intimidating facade as a kid. He spends hours in front of his mirror, practicing his scowl, and he shaved his eyebrows into square little blocks to make himself seem scarier. He spends lots of time working on making himself strong, and is a bit of an exercise-freak. His fists are already mangled from fights and scraps with those who questioned him. His voice is still young, but it has a certain power to it that will only grow with age. Durill has already found he is quiet good with his words, and oft uses this to his advantage when coercing other trolls to do his bidding.
In the end he works hard to prove he's got power, and isn't afraid to use it. He will use another troll as an example for all, just to prove his point. He wants to be in control, no matter the costs. So if that means he has to spill some blood, or hold a lusus hostage, he will.
What if someone beats/ignores/isn't afraid of Durill? Durill doesn't handle these situations well, and his reactions may range from screaming his throat raw to getting into a fight to the K.O. He loses all sense of dignity when his intimidation is questioned. It's sort of like his ego, man.
