Pink Dynamite

My heart, pink glass, so shattered and frail,
Self-destructs, a sudden implosion of glittering shards -
The implosion of a Universe.
The splintered fragments seem to float away on the wind,
Breaking free from their cage as my soul takes a gasp
Of the sharp Winter air.

The living moss
Creeping over my blank eyes;
My body left to rot, to ruin.

Oh, carry me away from the decay.
Carry me away from ruined beauty.
All my lifelong hopes and dreams
Borne away on the swirling breeze.

Separation

Running along;
Boots pound a metallic beat.
Pounding a song;
Pounding echoes with my feet.

Freeze the frame,
See me running through the rain.
Away from insanity,
Away from my pain.

No sun yet, just a weak grey watercolour sky.
Frozen puddles shoot up in spiked icy splashes.
Let me open my eyes
If cold tears have not sealed them shut forever.

Let me dive down into the dark deep
Dripping like honey, sweet black tar
Inside my the back of my skull; inside the heart of my soul.
I could stay here forever, love.
Please don't reach out to me
And pull me away.

Existence?

Outside this window
I see a graveyard;
Slabs of marble
Polished by the rain;
Garish roses
In orange and yellow;
Beneath lie the bodies
That now cause the pain.

The tombstones proclaim
That they used to be living-
Sweet Mary, brave Michael;
Once here by our sides.
But all it is now
That proclaims they existed
Is remembrance; which shall
Rot and wither with time.

Rain Garden

The rain falls from the sky
In great crystal teardrops;
It meets with the earth
And is severed by blades-
Green shoots reaching up
As clear streams flow to roots;
And beneath lie the bodies
In dank wooden frames.

Broken stones with inscriptions
Worn away by the time passed,
Worn away by the rainstorms
As they screamed out the names.
Overgrown in this garden
Where the dead lie beneath
Straight and rigid, like soldiers
From the casks where they lay.

The nettles, unfurling,
And columbine and clover
Are the only tribute
To the forgotten dead.
The milky dew settles
As the restless fog shifts,
And the wind is now moaning
For tears long ago shed.

I love you poems. heart
Your point of view is intriguing and the lovely canvases that you paint with your imagery are too beautiful.
I don't know which ones my favorite but you sure did capture my attention.
Thanks for being brave enough to post your work. 3nodding

Thank you, that's so sweet of you to comment! heart
I love any comments, even ones critisizing my poems, as long as they explain their points of view. Although, of course, mine may differ... razz lol

Hidden Love
A star-struck girl, a broken heart
Her love had known from the start.
Though, how great a connection they had had,
Neither suspected it would end so bad.
A cut to the wrist is how it all went wrong.
Too bad this is only the beginning of our song.
Though best friends they had been,
He never truly let her in.
Unless with him, she kept to herself.
Like a closed book on an empty shelf.
Yet, without her, he was at his best.
He continuously told her to give it a rest.
After a while, she found a way out.
Although, he never heard her shout.
She took a knife that fateful day,
And thought there was no other way
To get him to hear what he should already know.
It was as if the blade was his to throw.
That morning, he had come by
And after a moment, she started to cry.
She cried for him to think of her still
After, the girl, he would kill.
She gave him the knife; he held it high.
He pushed the blade into her heart; tears began to flow as she started to die.
He called an ambulance and turned to walk away
But she asked, through the blook, for him to stay.
No one knows what went through his mind
As he turned back and knelt by her side.
He kissed her then as the blood continued to flow.
She made him promise not to go.
The cops finally came; they were too late.
The boy shall never leave his hell-bound state.
It's been two years; he's still the same.
He'll never again say love is just a game.
He goes to his room and finds his knife;
Starts to think of taking his own life.
He closes his eyes as, with the blade, he stands.
Yet his wrists are held by unseen hands.
He hears in his head a soft-spoken voice,
And immediately reconsiders his choice.
He drops the knife and looks around;
Unknowingly cries as his knees hit the ground.
He hears, in the room, not a sound,
But, as if with someone, speaks aloud.
"What do you wish for me to do?
I cannnot live without you here; I love you, too..."

Stimulus

Bolt of blue lightning
That streaks through the nerves
And crackles up the vertebrae
In bright zipping neon;
Tubes coil around the spine -
An armoured serpent of spiked bone.

The sharp shocking impulse
At the edge of the labyrinth,
An electric current
Locked in a steel cage.

Pure, primitive instinct
In a flash of blue light.
