And Junko was down.
Sharra barely had a moment to comprehend just what that meant, just a split second to look away from the ghoul atop him. If Junko had fallen, then that was all the more reason to get up. Baring fangs in a snarl, the slender boil put his human hand on Freya's shoulder, gingerly making his attempt at hoisting her up so that he could at least get himself free. "You recover for a second then, but now is really not the time to give up, Miss." Somehow, he didn't remember them ever being properly introduced. Whelp. Guess introductions would come after having the ever-loving snot kicked out of them. "Either stay down, or get up and fight!" Seeing her, he'd taken her for a warrior, but the fog seemed to take their very core and twist it. He'd not hold it against her, as that was quite a fall that she'd taken. Letting his voice drop, he smiled faintly at the ghoul as the nergal clambered to his feet, "Let me know if you need a hand up when the time comes, because I know none of those here are going to leave you behind." Certainly not now, if Junko was indeed gone.
Exchanging a glance with Aksaja as he straightened, he nodded at the dragon boil. This...this reminded him of the times they'd shared back on the island, though it seemed that even in their terror they were stronger now. "We're gonna get through this!" It was louder, not just to the lightning dragon, but to all of those surrounding them. Heh. Sharra couldn't even bring himself to look at Seiji just yet, with any luck they'd defeat or drive away their opponent soon, then...then they could deal with damage control.
Leaning down for a moment, he then lunged forward, swiping claws at the fog-ghoul with a gutteral cry.
It was his second adventure now, where he was rather terribly gladdened, that Yaya hadn't been here to come along.

Freya heard what they were trying to tell her, and they were right. The ache, the pain, it wasn't enough to keep her from fighting. She should have known better than to lay down and accept her fate..
But lately, that's all she'd felt like doing.
She used Sharra's legs to help prop herself up, before finally getting on her feet. Nothing felt broken, and that was enough. She saw Junko's body fading away, and it filled her with boiling hatred for the thing Xiu had become. Her lips had just barely parted to let out a warcry, when-
... Well Jackdamnit.
"J-JA, THAS RIGHTS. RUNS, YEH p***y. NOW WE COMES AND FINDS YEH!" She was trying to smack talk the dissipating form, and when she flung her arms out threateningly, her entire body wavered, threatening to fall back to the ground. Her bark was still worse than her bite.

One moment Junko was beside him, his arm around her side as he urged her to stop trying to talk to the creature Xiu had become, and the next she was gone with little more then a startled squeak as gray claws plunged through her chest with enough force to make her body jerk in his arms. There was a second of shocked silence as he watched the claws pull free, then a scream bubbling up within his throat and forcing it's way out his mouth as the ghoul dissipated. "No, Junko! JUNKO!"
Always before it had been him dying, and her being forced to watch. He knew that she'd fallen before as well, but it had always come after he'd been ripped away from her, so he'd never had to witness it before. But seeing it, feeling her breath rattle out with her heartbroken question of 'why'.. Jack damn. How did she stand it?
He stood there, too stunned to move, too stricken to even lash out at the beast as his friends finished it off for him. He just stood there, arms held out in front of him, glowing eyes wide and staring.
Vaguely he knew, somewhere deep, that this was Halloween, and dead didn't mean forever, but he was having one hell of a time accessing that logic at the moment.

Freya's words prompted a grim, weary smile from the nergal boil as he stood panting, watching as their opponent faded away, much as Junko had moments before, though this vanishing prompting an entirely different sort of emotion. In some ways, Sharra knew how the Valkyrie felt. At least she'd given it a try, a try was sometimes all they had. Reaching out on instinct, he put a limb behind the blond ghoul in a guarding fashion, steadying her lest she careen groundwards. "We'll get them all eventually." He murmured, a bitter vendetta seethed with acidity behind Sharra's words. Whatever this grim, grey enemy was, the demon had a score to settle with it.
Though the idea that he could grapple it like some long-sought nemesis in one-on-one combat was delusional. It merely had the nice ring of settlement to it.
Looking worriedly towards the ghost boil in their party, Sharra called over to his friend, "Seiji! It'll be all right, we can look for her, ok!?" It would make sense that she'd have reformed like usual...right? Ah Jack help them, the fog conjured up far too many fears, niggling terrors of things that just might be. Heh. At times like this, the blond youth could almost imagine himself human.
