Honey & Poo


She asked me, "Why do I keep on attracting the same type of people?"

I replied, "Because that certain type of person is attracted to who you are."

With a puzzled look, she asked, "Okay, then...who am I?"

I answered, "I don't know."

"But what I do know is that there's two type of people in this world. People that are like flies and people that are like bees."

She pressed, "Well, am I a fly or am I a bee?"

I responded, "Neither."

She said, "Okay, so what does that have to do with me?"

I said, "Everything."

"People who are like flies are attracted to poo, while people who are like bees are attracted to honey. Honey doesn't attract flies and poo doesn't attract bees. Now what you have to figure out is, 'how do you attract people?' is with honey, or is it with poo?"

It's a lovely concept, almost childlike in the description yet completely true.

Just a little grammatical error or two::
"flies are attracted to poo, while people who are like bees are attracted to honey"

"flies" and "people" are plural.

Great job, though. ^^

Edit: I used the word "poo" so it could be a play on winnie the pooh (Honey & Pooh) and to have that element of "innocent clarity" in the logic of the poem.
