[1v1] Feels Under Fire (Deryk v Hel) [FIN]

Battling solved everything. Why not? Okay, well…it didn’t really solve anything, but stalking through the Haunted House did help to ease the ache…if only temporarily.

The blade of Hel’s spear dragged along the floor of the Haunted House eerily, as did her voice, echoing down the halls. “Oh Huuuuuuunters…come out, come out wherever you are…I want to play.” A bit of a sadistic grin pulled at her lips as she got a bit of oomph to kick open the next door she came across. Stepping into the room, the sound of her boots scraping across steel grating caught her attention…as did the sudden spike in heat. Hel idly fanned herself as she stared down between the steel mesh, noting the lava down below, and the barbed wire lining the ‘walls’ of this room…that was more like a steel cage suspended about a bit of lava.

...Hm. Vaguely interesting. Her voice couldn’t echo on these walls though, so instead she cupped a hand to her mouth and yelled. “COME OUT AND FIGHT ME, HUNTERS!”

Deryk had been having shifts in the haunted house quite a bit really, and he didn't like that all too much. Half the time he ran into those out for his blood. And apparently today was one of those times. There was no worry of whether someone was here or not. Someone was calling out for him. Someone definitely looking for a fight.

Letting out a groan, he just looked around the room. This place did not make him feel all too comfortable too with its current decor and whatnot.

"Is fighting really necessary? Just.. uh. Leave? No need for anyone to get hurt?" he called out hopefully. It was probably going to fall on deaf ears, considering the way this girl was shouting out.

Ask and you shall receive. Sometimes.

Hel’s grin widened as another Hunter appeared and she readied her weapon. “Oh, you do not want to fight?” The reaper questioned. “Oh…that is a disappointment, but if you just want to lie down, I will make it quick. Decapitation is one of the more…ah…humane ways, I suppose.”

Hel didn’t bother waiting for a reply though, and just dashed across the room in a charge at the Hunter.

Once she was close enough, she pulled her weapon back and swung it at him. She didn’t know if it was the heat softening his human flesh up or what, but that swing just seemed to cut into his FEAR shield like butter. Worked for her.

"Woah. Woahwoah. NOoooooononononono. Not laying down. Not getting head cut off either. Said we don't have to fight. Includes you too you know," Deryk frowned. Well. He tried. He really didn't want to fight in a place like this too but... now he didn't have much choice.

"Disposition like that dangerous. More likely to become human killer? Maybe. Doesn't matter. Defend self," he murmured more to himself than to the strange.. dual toned girl before him. It was a little odd to see someone like that.

"Ack!" he cried out as her spear cut into his shield. It took a pretty big chunk out of it too.

"Yep.. Gotta defend," he sighed as he ran across the steel grate towards the reaper. Grimacing from the heat, he slashed out at her, extending out the hidden blade as he swung with his left arm.

“HA!” Hel barked out a laugh. “Not fight? That is ludacris. I had human blood coating my spear the other day, and I am eager to do it again!”

The reaper didn’t seem alarmed or concerned as Deryk drew in close to her, and when he summoned his…little weapon? Hel may have cackled. Oh hey…This Hunter was pretty close to her…and she had a new item she needed to take for another test run. Her grin widened. The ghoul dismissed her weapon and in a swift motion dug a purple glove out of her pocket. She slipped it into her right hand and drew it back…then cracked it right across the Hunter’s face.

Wait, why did she just dismiss her weapon? SLAP!

Stunned from the impact, Deryk staggered back before feeling a little warmer. And fuzzier. At the face.

"What... the.." he blinked before touching his face. There was hair there! Bewildered, he just stared at the reaper, "Did.. did you just slap a beard on me?"

Tooley was giggling like hell in his head right about now. Though, she quickly suggested that he move before he end up taking another heavy hit. Right. Still rather flabbergasted, he rushed in and thrusted the hidden blade right for her torso.

"Bloodthirsty too. Definitely not good sign," he sighed.

Holy Jack…it worked again.

Once more, Hel couldn’t help but bust out into maniacal laughter upon seeing that full beard on the Hunter’s face. Her laughter was quickly silence though as his weapon was thrust right into her torso. Even with a FEAR shield and a chainmail tunic on…that still stung. Hel choked a bit, narrowing her eyes at the Death Hunter before she pulled her head back and then head butted him, hard.

She then summoned her weapon back into her hands, giving it a twirl before pointing it at him tauntingly.

Ouch. That headbutt had him reeling back again. Rubbing his head, he made sure for a moment that he didn't grow hair on his forehead too.

"...Hate fighting the murderous ones," he murmured to himself. He always tended to do poorly against them.

"What's your beef anyway? Personal or no?" he frowned while carefully moving around her. The spear was going to be a problem. But, he was going to try and get past it anyway. Running back at the reaper, he soon leaped into the air, trying to jump on her practically to shove the blade at her throat.

Hel eyed the hunter as he seemed to start circling her, and at his question, she snorted incredulously. “Oh, very personal.” She hissed, temporarily distracted as he got the leap on her.

The valkyrie scowled, reaching up to grab him by the hood as he made a swipe at her throat. Damn. That stung too. Once again, it was a lucky thing her FEAR shield took the brunt of it. Since he was so close once more, she head-butted him again.

Another headbutt. Groaning, Deryk rolled off while clutching his head again. Kneeling from there, he frowned at the reaper while shaking his head slowly. This was getting dangerous. The shield was hanging by a thread it felt like, and the last time it had shattered in this place by an angry and bloodthirsty person? He lost his finger.

He didn't want to lose something more.

"Sorrytohearthat.." he murmured quietly. It was quick, but sincere at the same time. Taking steps back, he began to reach for his pendant.

“If means nothing coming from yo—“ Hel let out a startled gasp as the Hunter reached up for his pendant. She knew what that was. HAX! Marcus had used one to disappear last time.

“Oh no you do not!” The reaper cried and lunged at him.

"Deus ex machina."

And then he was gone.

Hel’s arms swiped through empty air.

The valkyrie let out a loud scowl, staring up at the steel grating ceiling as if it was to blame for this. The ghoul stood there for a few moments before scowling again and stomping out of the room. She may have won the battle because he fled, but she would have rather had his blood instead. Oh well. There was always a next time…and at least she got to use her glove on him. The thought had her cackling as she left the Haunted House.
