Name: Librii Cidnun

Librii - Book or Novel in Latin +i.
Cid - From Placidus, meaning Quiet/Gentle.
Nun - From Nuntius meaning Messenger.

Blood color: 1F999C Teal [Colorpicker.com]

Gender: Male

Symbol: A paperclip!

Personality:
On the outside, Librii seems the typical cold and snobby tealblood. Good posture, that air of 'I'm better than you in every way', and the blank and stoic expression. On a social level he appears to have no interest in making first contact with others, he doesn't speak unless spoken to on most accounts, and is mostly always off on his own doing Gog knows what. That is until that slow, lazy and gentle smile appears and his eyes soften with warmth. It's like a whole different troll! Beneath the 'Model Tealblood' facade is a passionate, humble and easy-going individual. Contrary to the image he presents, Librii does not care about your blood color. He thinks the hemospectrum system is, quite frankly, a load of hoofbeast s**t. He can't say so out loud [though sometimes he really wants to] but he treats 'Lowbloods' and 'Highbloods' as equals with the same amount of respect and kindness instead.

Librii isn't ashamed of his compassion, and isn't very concerned with what other trolls may possibly think of him, but even so he has to be smart about what he does. After all, you can't help anyone if you get culled. There are times depending on the situation where he could totally lose his cool, however. That happens if he see's someone being beaten, if its a child thats been made the target, and especially when it's a friend. Librii will become terribly protective and quickly swoop in to help defend them or somehow defuse the situation. He prides himself on being able to resolve situations without resorting to violence, and finds its worse to pull your weapon than it is to take a hit. However...if the situation is dire enough he will not abandon his friends or his beliefs, and he will stand and fight.

Librii often sneaks out of his hive with a bag of supplies to hand out to those who need it. He keeps under the radar mostly, disguising himself when he does leave with an oversized hoodie and glasses, and does what he can to help those that have been mistreated and hurt. He'll travel through the lower-class parts of the Hemisects to do just that. Even with the 'lowbloods', he's usually met with some hostility and even violence, but it does not deter him. He bears some scars along his arms from past encounters. Of course he meets many different trolls, but the one thing he can't bring himself to do is hate those who don't agree or believe in the same things he does. Everyone is raised to think and act a certain way according to blood color, but despite titles like 'subjuggulator' that troll is still an individual with their own likes and dislikes. He does hate what they do and why they do it, but...it would unfair to say he hated them as a whole. They're trolls too. He treats them just as would everyone else.

He's a genuine, patient, and gentle individual. He's learned to be independent and self-sufficient from early on, and thus he comes off as a lot more mature for his age, but he's got a pretty big adventurous streak. He's a quiet troll who's very fond of books and reading, and that's what he spends most of his time doing. You will never catch him without a book, and he has a very vast collection that always keeps him busy. Books are his escape and what relax him the most, and they've been his closest companions through the sweeps. He has one strange quirk in which he'll sometimes read perched in some ridiculous upside-down position. Other interests include the ocean, music, astronomy, and exploring.

He's a pretty big history buff too, but he keeps that to himself. While exploring the Old Hemisect, he'd managed to get his hands on some damaged, albeit still readable history books. He keeps them well hidden in his room, and he's always on the hunt for more. He's a pretty chill dude, and is usually off on his own at the library or in his room, listening to music and keeping himself busy with mundane things. When he's in the mood he'll go for a walk down the streets of the New Hemisect, going in no particular direction. He likes to see where he can end up. It's not that he chooses to be alone, but because of his strange behavior growing up he never really made any friends. Others usually don't approach him and Librii, although friendly and open-minded, has trouble approaching others. He's sort of just gotten used to being alone at this point, though he really wishes for a friend. It's another thing he gets annoyed at himself for being unable to do. He'd be all up for hanging out!

It was a combination of being alienated for his treatment of lowbloods, his Lusus never really being around after a certain point, and his looks that caused most of Librii's self confidence issues. Librii was always taller than most kids, and always had a gloriously long mass of curly hair [He used to get tangled in it as a wriggler. Kinda cute, actually.]. But It was how he treated lowbloods, however, that really seemed to piss everyone else off and he was outcast while growing up because of it. Not to mention severely beaten several times. Stazmom never really came out of her room much afterwards. He'd go in and check on her a lot but she would be sleeping and never really speak to him. He picked up all the cleaning and chores as a result. Fighting and complaining had never been his thing so he just quietly took life as it came, and didn't realize how much it actually affected him until he hit his teens. Librii sometimes thinks about why he does the things he does, about why he seems to be so different from other trolls.

The truth is, Librii can never really find a straight answer for it. He knew the changes started when he was really young, and Stazmom told him that he was an infuriating wriggler because all he ever wanted to do was make friends with everyone else. While it may seem it brings him more harm than good, Librii feels its totally worth it, and is pretty relaxed about it. He still thinks being able to be friends everyone would be pretty awesome.

On top of his self confidence problems, he has very low self esteem. He's plagued by horrorterrors of the things he sees when he leaves his hive to help. He feels responsible for Stazmom's miserable state, and part of him feels like a disappointment to her. When he was younger the trials and training were so easy, but as he gets older its getting harder and harder for him to pick up his weapon. These are all things he keeps to himself, however, and never speaks about them. There are bigger problems to worry about, after all, so he lets them quietly fester there until he can find a way to deal with it. He'll get nervous if someone tries to pry about these particular issues, and finds it very difficult to open up about them.

Strengths:
Uncommonly Kind. - A stated previously, Librii is remarkably selfless. He's not above going without food for a day if it means giving it others who need it. He always puts others before himself. He's also a fantastic listener, and is always there with advice and a shoulder to cry on. He'll never push you away or tell you he's too busy. He's there to help and be a loyal bro, should you need it.

I won't judge. - Librii doesn't care about what you are, it's who you are on the inside that matters. He looks passed all that blood and status bullshit and gets to know the troll underneath all that. Although respectful and polite most of the time to all bloodkinds, he still gets beaten up. No matter how many bruises or scrapes he bares, it still won't change what he feels.

Mister Bright Side. - Optimistic, hopeful, and possessing a quiet strength, Librii feels that anything can be accomplished over time and with enough effort. It's a rather contagious feeling around this particular troll, as are his smiles. He's got this weird soothing thing going on that makes it pretty easy to relax around him.

Flaws:
Socially awkward/Shy. - While Librii won't think twice if someone is hurt or hungry, in any normal social situation he's actually rather hesitant. He'll most likely look down at the ground a lot and fumble with the hem of his sweater while he tries to think of something to say. He's prone to blushing as well, and sometimes he stutters. Usually its a lot easier for him if the other person asks most of the questions and gets the conversation going. After that he'll be a lot more relaxed. If it's up to him to ask, however, you may be left standing there for a good handful minutes in complete awkward silence while he tried to muster something up. He becomes less flustered about it the more he meets with your troll.

Weak. - When it comes to battle, Librii is at a severe disadvantage. He never trains anymore, convinced that spending his time helping others is far more important. The only reason he keeps in any sort of shape is from the constant running around and sneaking out he does. He has a very lean and willowy build, but even then it doesn't help him very much unless its for a quick escape. He has some skill with his weapon, and isn't entirely useless, but for the most part he's nowhere near where he should be with it.

My own worst enemy. - A lot of the time, Librii is fighting an inner battle with himself. While he feels he needs to stay mentally strong for the ones he needs to help, he constantly beats himself down with the fact that he is weak in every aspect, not just combat. He feels like he's not fit to help anyone, and will never be good enough to ever really accomplish anything. It doesn't help that he thinks Stazmom pretty much hates him, and thinks him a failure to his blood color.

Weapon:
Librii is a Halberdkind. His Lusus began teaching him, but after she decided to drop off the face of Alternia, he didn't continue. He doesn't like it, and though he does understand the importance of being protected, he just can't bring himself to use it. Bloodshed and hurting others won't make anything better.

Appearance: Picture coming soon [hopefully].

Home: Librii lives in the middle level of a Hivestem in the New Hemisect. It's a busy and bustling place, but he enjoys the activity. There's always lots to do too. His room is a bit messy. There are towers of books, notes and papers strewn about, some clothes here and there. More on it later.

Lusus:
Stazmom is a Stazard. A mix between a Stag and a Lizard. She had the head of a lizard, the body of a stag and the tail of a lizard. She hides in her room most of the time and sleeps, completely convinced that she is the worst guardian on Alternia. She's not sure how Librii even managed to survive the trials when they had first met. She chose him because of his lovely shade of teal, and was sure that he would be the best suited to learn to wield the Halberd, but.../SOB WOE IS ME WHAT DID I DO WROOOONG.

It's worth noting that, on a whole, trolls are a very tough warrior race, with all sorts of societal rules and standards, none of which coincides with yours.

Nice/sensitive trolls exist, of course, one of them is canon, but it's commented on several times that he's very out of the norm. Not to mention that Alternia's a very difficult place to live, which would make being such a pushover way harder than it would on Earth! He's looking less at "incessant teasing" and more at "attempted cullings," probably.

Overall though, he seems like a very human character, nothing that really strikes me as placing him apart from, y'know, people. Which is relatively fine I suppose, I'm just pointing out that you have all sorts of options that wouldn't be there in a normal earth-based roleplay! You obviously don't have to, but spicing him up a bit would make for some potentially more interesting roleplay.

This is a totally unofficial crit, more just suggestions, but yeah there you go. =w=

I dunno how much of a crit this is than just a few personality based questions that are fun to think about in regards to RP or whatever, and might help think about how you'd play him in the shop!

Is there any situation where Librii could be provoked into attacking first? A threat to his person, or maybe to his friends or something else he finds precious? He's described as being patient and kind, but can he get angry enough to want to hurt someone? Or would he be too weak to stand up for himself/others, and let them be hurt in his stead?

Does he like being alone, or does he just deal with the fact he's often left alone? Would he go hang out with a troll if he were invited to do so? c: How would Librii deal with social gatherings, and group RP based things (a metaplot, for instance) with his shyness?

Even though he's super patient and nice and all that, how would he deal with the masses of trolls that are violent or angry or high-strung paranoid? What kind of behavior would he take in kind to cannibal highbloods or very cruel trolls?

Hope this helps!

*___* Very excellent points, Purp. I suppose I should put something about his limits/how far he can be pushed before he'll push back in there somewhere.

Librii's just hesitant during first meets, but afterwards he's pretty okay! I'll clarify a bit more just so it's a bit clearer!

Thank you very much!
