Name: byakko mawiya byakko -> japanese name for white tiger, one of the four symbols of the chinese constellations mawiya -> pronunciation of mavia, this badass rebel queen
Blood colour: mutantblood - #DB4E57 While Akko does have hemoanonymous clothing, she usually chooses to wear her blood colour with pride. Granted, she usually isn't anywhere where it matters. When needed she pulls her robe up to hide her hue- the teal sash she wears around her waist usually gives others the impression that she is smack in the middle of the hemospectrum and she is generally left alone.
Gender: female
Symbol: a mashup of two of the seven constellations of the White Tiger- three stars/shen and turtle beak/tsui Trolldad designed it with the idea that it was two figures shaking hands or a bridge; a symbol of what he hoped she would encapsulate for the rebellion and Alternia.
Weapon: military grade kanabō (1d6 +1) An ancient looking weapon, that easily comes up to about Byakko's shoulders in height.
Personality: At first glance, Byakko seems rather sullen for her age. It's rather appropriate considering her life experiences; and it could all be chalked up to her mutant blood colour. Life was never fun for Akko, it was always a struggle merely to survive. Such is true for most trolls, but she was rejected by all lusi and remained guardianless for most of her life. Byakko became very serious at a young age- if she didn't grow up and buckle down, she would surely perish to one of the larger creatures deep within the caverns she resided within. Rarely does the deadpan expression on her face waver, as the mutant is very good at controlling her feelings and facial ticks. She simply can't afford to have personal emotions. They get in the way of her survival as a mutant, and cloud her judgment when it comes to Alliance matters. When a smile plays at the corner of her lips or eyes begin to shimmer with tears ever so slightly it's surely a notable occasion; but it's fairly uneventful to see a more aggravated or displeased side of Akko. Many take her few precise words as being crass or blunt, but the pinkblood prefers being honest and straight to the point. She selects her words carefully, and rarely rambles- but Akko has been known to relax around those she`s gotten to know.
Byakko is extremely self aware, and holds herself in a way that suggests she's always alert and ready for anything at all times. Her piercing eyes are constantly darting around at attention, focused on her surroundings and the trolls around her. Those who are familiar with the twitches and quirks of a true survivor may recognize her behavior, but most chalk it up to being extremely prepared. It's merely her nature due to her violent past- which also kept her in tip top shape. Akko is athletic for her age, as one would expect considering her situation. She's scrappy, always ready to drop everything to defend herself. Byakko tends to come off a little strong, possibly even wild- and those who knew she spent many sweeps deep in the brooding caverns would understand why. On occasion a remnant of her feral past may surface; such as scratching an irritating itch behind her ear with a good foot scratch. Often Akko is oblivious to her questionable behavior- Trolldad taught her well, but he was no gentleman himself. She enjoys competition when it comes to athletics, as her guardian often trained her through competitive games. Despite Trolldad's carefree nature, Byakko was raised to be extremely self disciplined and remains so. While she excels in anything physical and battle tactics, anything to do with math she is simply terrible with. Akko easily becomes flustered with simple math equations, much to her embarrassment- and don't even get her started on technology! She breaks practically everything she touches, albeit unintentionally. She just isn't good with it one bit, and leaves all that good stuff to her trusted tech team.
While Byakko considers herself a realistic thinker, she generally tends to lean towards pessimism. She will deny it; but her outlook on life is just a tad darker than your average troll's. She's been alone most of her sweeps, or in the company of the primarily adult rebel trolls. Understandably Akko isn't very good at interacting with her peers; in fact, one might say she's a little intimidated by them. She's yet to meet a troll around her age accepting of her blood hue- granted she doesn't go around flaunting it to everyone. Byakko is especially intimidated at the prospect of any quadrants; they all seem scary, overwhelming and too time consuming to her. The pinkblood is uncomfortable with the idea of having her own personal feelings- Akko's never been allowed to have such luxuries. She's easily embarrassed and worked up when it comes to any shade, and tries to avoid situations that may lead to misunderstandings. She is for sure, no way, ever looking to fill her quadrants! Her position as Rebel Leader takes priority over such trivial matters. Still, Byakko finds herself especially drawn to weak or endearing little red and low orangebloods. Something about them really just makes her want to protect and hold them forever...! Akko claims to despise weaklings, and will single those out that fit her specifications. It's her own misled, blundering way of trying to motivate and train them; as there's no space in the rebellion for the feeble. She will pay special attention to 'the weaklings' in an attempt to toughen them up, giving them personal coaching sessions and the like.
Byakko strongly believes in the teachings of her father. Blood colour is irrelevant; it is who you are as a troll that should decide your place in society. A colour granted at birth should have no reflection on your talents, on your crimes, or on anything other than what shade you happen to bleed. While Byakko tries to stick to these teachings as best as possible, she still finds herself biased when it comes to highbloods. She has witnessed much cruelty at their hands, and finds them the hardest to trust. While Akko finds that purplebloods tend to be more upfront with their batshittery, it's bluebloods that really make her hair stand on ends. Byakko firmly believes bluebloods are all scheming, backstabbing pricks who constantly plot for nothing more than their own personal gain. She`s always on the defense when a blueblood is present. Akko actually remains undecided on seadwellers; as she's only ever met a couple and they were loyal members of the rebellion. She has also yet to meet any other mutants, but Byakko is hopeful that one day she'll meet someone who truly understands her world.

Strengths: INDEPENDENT - "If you want it done right, do it yourself." Byakko spent most of her early life alone, and realized very young that in order to survive she had to toughen up and fend for herself- for some unknown reason it seemed like the whole world was against her very existence. She fought tooth and nail for her survival, scavenging what little food she could from the brooding caverns while fighting off the smaller potential lusi. Byakko became very efficient at caring for herself, and clung onto life desperately despite her apparent damnation to the caverns. Even after her rescue by a small group of rebels that ultimately took her in, Byakko never truly let herself believe that she wasn't alone. She allowed herself to fall into a short-lived sense of security, but the nagging feeling that she was all by her lonesome never left the back of her mind. Byakko is very accustomed to doing whatever she needs to get done by herself, and can sometimes be uncomfortable with sending her units out to do the tasks she needs to accomplish- but running a rebellion is lots of work! She is most comfortable doing the most vital of missions herself, as she is fairly confident in her own abilities.
PASSIONATE - "I will never give up!" If there's one thing apparent about Byakko, it's the blazing and fierce determination she constantly wears painted across her face. When the mutantblood has her mind set on something, she peruses it with all her heart and energy. She was persistent about her survival while lost in the brooding caverns, and is even more driven now that she is aware of and subject to the derogatory blood caste system of Alternia. That quality comes in handy with her newfound position as the Rebel Alliance's leader, as her dedication to the cause is steadfast and reliable. Extremely devoted to the cause, Byakko has dedicated her life to the rebellion and remains motivated despite many obstacles. Few causes can stirr up the level of passion required to hold Byakko's interests, but when something does it's rare that the pinkblood gives up or looses fervour.
CONSCIENTIOUS - "I... I want to be a leader worth following." Above all, Byakko wants to do what she believes is right and help usher the troll race into a new era of equality. Following in the footsteps of her father, Byakko desires most to uphold the morals taught by him and spread Trolldad's beliefs among the populace. Patient and thorough almost to a fault, Byakko can on occasion spend too much time lingering on important decisions that need to be made for the Alliance- but she is extremely meticulous with important matters and her planning usually pays off. She tends to be especially cautious when it comes to things directly concerning her rebels, as Byakko's fear of loosing the remainders of the Alliance governs her. Her self discipline comes in handy here; and she is fairly good at separating what 'Byakko' wants and what 'Rebel leader' wants. The mutantblood's need for acceptance, (for both herself and the Alliance's beliefs), and success drive her to work harder- she won't allow herself to fail while holding the position as leader of the Rebel Alliance. She simply won't!
EMPATHETIC - "Protect the meek and the meek shall grow strong." Byakko is on the short end of the hemospectrum. Heck, she's so far off the hemospectrum she's fallen off and can't get back on. Born a mutant, rejected by every lusi and she's ever encountered, the pinkblood can relate to mistreated lowbloods- especially the lowest of the low. Even most warmbloods would chase her off! While she was lucky enough to escape most of the discrimination mutants would have to deal with thanks to being rescued by the Rebel Alliance, Byakko is all too aware of the horrors the caste system can permit and the abuse many lowbloods submit to. She is extremely compassionate to their situations, and offers many protection services- although usually exclusively to other rebel members, as their resources aren't quite what they used to be. She is very good at lending a listening ear, and enjoys hearing stories from all walks of life- although she often doesn't know what to say in response. It only adds fuel to the fire burning deep within her organ-cage cavity.
Flaws: STUBBORN - "No, you're the wrong one!" Byakko's biggest fault is her hotheadedness. While she tends to keep it under control when it comes to official Alliance business, she can come off as rather argumentative and standoffish in personal situations. Byakko merely has very strong opinions and isn't afraid to assert them; rarely does she budge from her own beliefs on equality and justice which ironically closes her mind off to various other opinions. Akko often gets into squabbles with other trolls on her days off, especially when they're unaware who exactly she is or her blood colour. She isn't one to back down or turn the other cheek, so confrontation is fairly common when Byakko strays from her duties as the rebellion's head. Her father often told her that this was a problem and she needed to learn to turn her aggression into assertiveness in order to be an effective leader; Byakko still doesn't quite understand the difference.
TACTLESS - "I, erm, I'm sorry your lusus had a long and painful death?" Despite her position as leader of the rebels, Byakko has difficulties dealing with fragile situations. She often is left grasping for words when trolls get emotional on her, and is highly uncomfortable dealing with occasions where any amount of finesse is required. Often blurting out inappropriate things in her blunt, awkward way, Byakko tends to make delicate situations worse. She is inexperienced when it comes to personal relationships, especially with those around her age, and therefore doesn't always know how to react to certain situations. It really shows, and Akko tries to avoid quadrant-related confrontations at all costs to prevent those awkward moments. While Byakko does her best to deal with difficult situations within the Alliance when they arise, her uneasiness dealing with damage control and the like shows. She is fairly uncharismatic for a leader, but she genuinely tries to overcome her shortcomings whenever the Alliance is involved. (Having a hood to hide under really, really helps...)
GUARDED - "It's none of your business, back off." It should go without saying that the mutantblooded Byakko is untrusting even for a troll. It's rare to get her to open up about herself personally, she would much rather discuss matters of rebellion than such embarrassing things! Highly suspicious of everyone and everything- especially new trolls- Byakko is constantly on alert for threats to the rebels and her own well being. Having been hunted or attacked by damn near every living thing you've ever encountered forms habits like that. While Akko can be more than secretive, as it's her own way to protect herself and her allegiance, she does abide by her personal rules of integrity. While she may not divulge everything others may think she should, Byakko would never purposely keep information that could save lives nor trick others with misinformation. At the same time, not opening up to potential, valuable allies hinders the Alliance's progress as Byakko's over protectiveness is preventing them from gaining a substantial amount of new recruits and confederates.
BITTER - "Never forget, never forgive." Byakko can hold a grudge like nobody's business. She is fully capable of constantly simmering to herself, lingering on whatever upset her for way more time than is logically reasonable. Apologies are usually worthless- Akko rarely forgives or lets go once instigated. Part of the reason why she can maintain such anger is how difficult it is to genuinely hurt her, as Akko holds very few things dear to herself. She will never forget once crossed, and while she may bide her time patiently Byakko usually has her revenge...

Lusus:Trolldad - Zhuque Anikii As a mutant, Byakko had to defend herself without the aid of a pale, animalistic parent. She spent most of her youth lost and disoriented in the brooding caverns, unable to find her way out without a proper guardian. She grew a strong distaste of lusi, especially large ones, as they attacked and hunted her relentless due to her peculiar shade of blood. The young troll remained abandoned in the twisted depths of the brooding caverns, left to fend for herself against the many, many monstrosities looking for their own bloodkin.
One day, a small group of adult trolls stumbled upon the mutantblood. Equally surprised to see each other, they approached the girl curiously- she was much too old to still be in the caverns, and deep enough that she couldn't have just wandered in casually. It didn't take them long to notice her brightly coloured bruises and wounds- her blood was far too pink to be normal.
The near feral Byakko would have none of that; and lunged at the face of the nearest lumbering figure before they had time to discuss the matter further. She scratched desperately at the rustblood's face, eager to inflict any damage to her perceived assailants. The larger, muscular man peeled the scrappy young mutant off his shoulders and tossed her to the ground, clutching at his face. "W-WHAT THE HELL," he sobbed, pointing an accusing finger at the pinkblood (who was already scrambling back into a defensive stance). "WAS THAT FOR?"
The vermilion-hued redblood was one half of the leading force of the Rebel Alliance. He and his blueblooded morail ran the organization together, as the responsibility had been left to the two of them by their deceased mentor. After a rocky first impression the lowblood decided to take the young girl in as his own, and raise her to be a symbol of hope among their people. Her brightly hued, dangerously pink blood earned whispers among the rebels, but the open minded trolls of the Alliance welcomed their youngest member. The redblood handed most of the responsibility of the organization over to his morail in order to train and raise Byakko, who was fast becoming a promising young recruit.
Byakko refuses to discuss this topic with anyone, at any point. It is common knowledge among the rebels that Trolldad and his morail died in the last Vast Glub along with the majority of their troops in the battle against the previous Queen. Trolldad's own lusus and Byakko's adopted grandmother of sorts, Tigermom, died shortly after the tragedy and Byakko wears part of her pelt to this day.

Rebels - NEED A NAME.... - vision - honourable / feels obligation to lead in wake of trolldad & morails death - yet feels very inadequate, humility is genuine - is awkward with peers and leading them - 'leads to serve' - equality based system, reverse when due (ie Aendal) - good of all > good of few - recruit powered !!! - realizes the death of all adults is a giant opportunity to reset the ruling system and is RLY RLY RLY pressured because holy s**t when does this even happen guys?

Byakko rarely spends time at her own hive. Always too preoccupied with her position as leader of the Phoenix Initiative, her home is abandoned and covered in a thick layer of dust. Tucked smartly away, it is well hidden and snuggled in a series of caves near the summit of Busthind Mountain. Byakko is quite efficient at navigating them, thanks to her prolonged stay in the brooding caverns. Not many traverse up high enough to be within range of her home, at any rate; which is why Trolldad chose to make it there in the first place.
Byakko usually sleeps at one of the many bases or safehouses the rebels keep, or in her own portable respiblocks she usually carries on hand. She needs a pretty damn good reason to go back home. In all honesty, Byakko is avoiding her wrigglerhood hive since she hasn't really been there since Trolldad's passing- it holds all sorts of memories she doesn't want to dig up.

Byakko's hive is cleverly tucked away from prying lookstubs, well hidden in a series of secluded caves near the summit of Busthind Mountain. She is quite efficient at navigating the twisting tunnels, thanks to her prolonged stay in the brooding caverns. At any rate, not many traverse high enough to be within range of her home, which is why Trolldad selected that cave system in the first place. The two lived there in near solitude until Byakko was ready to be integrated into society and the Phoenix Initiative, remaining uninhabited after Trolldad's death.
For the last several sweeps Byakko had left her hive abandoned, unable to fully cope with the loss of her pseudo-lusus and the memories the caves held. bluhbluh maneki

☒[BATT] THE INSIDE JOB Byakko awakens to find the rebels sealed inside a metal room with a relentlessly attacking machine, Zeffer discovers her blood mutation and tries to help her before being captured, and then everyone else goes down too.

☑[ORP] INSURGENT INQUIRY Byakko explains the decaying state of the Phoenix Initiative after their capture, and resolves to work with the recruits to fix their ongoing problems. She finally reveals her full identity to those present, including her friends, who respond warmly (if not a little bit inappropriately).
☒[ORP] PHOENIX WRONG The rebels meet up to discuss and vote on their findings over the Initiative's disarray, only to be interrupted by the correctly accused traitor. Byakko learns one of her most trusted had betrayed her, and was responsible for Trolldad's death. An extremely bloody battle ensues, and the few survivors have an emotional disagreement.
☑[ORP] GREAT EGGSPECTATIONS Shaken from an extremely confrontational battle, Byakko reveals the hatched and reproducing Mother Grub from the Matriorb retrieved sweeps ago to the few remaining members of the Initiative, and tries to mend some shattered bonds.
