Cadian IG Restoration/Tallarn Conversion

Moving on to da big gunz. Using my airbrush to apply the camo paint scheme this time, and I really like how much better the soft edges look. Also was a lot faster and more evenly coated than doing it by hand.

Just ordered 30 plasma guns (probably overkill, but if anybody needs one...) from Forgeworld so I can convert a Tallarn command squad... I have plasma gunners, but they're pewter cadian ones, and I need to make a nice matching Tallarn squad to continue that theme.

New toys!



First, some WIP shots of plasma gunners (one clutching a recent chest wound, the other pretty generic) and a converted Lord Commissar with a power axe, converted a couple ways. The axe is from a Hasslefree mini, the power pack is hijacked from a Guardsman vox operator, and the hand is entirely free-sculpted.





Lastly, the still-WIP Wyvern, still missing crew and some to-be-magnetized ammo boxes. Gotta customize the crew as Tallarn before I glue them in.

Conversions are done on the plasma gunners, just need paint now.



This head is also going to get a headpiece after the greenstuff dries on the goggles and goatee. It's going to be for a platoon officer with a bolter, to go with four sniper rifles (a measly 39pt squad!).

Bolter platoon officer finally complete! I did a lot more highlighting than I normally do, and also did non-metallic-metal for all the gold details. The bolter's named "Judis," a variation (intended to be Gothic) of the Latin "iudicius" for Judgment or Sentence, an apt name for the bolter of a sniper officer, I think. smile
