Always Been There

Small warning, this is not exactly a cheerful poem. If you have read my other posts, you may notice a trend in my style. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Always Been There

I have always been there with you.
When you opened your eyes,
For the first time,
When you learned to walk and talk,
Read and write,
I was there with you.

I have always been there with you.
When friends entered your life,
When they walked out,
And when your enemies,
Made themselves known,
I was there with you.

I have always been there with you.
The day you gave your heart,
To the one you loved most,
The day they took your heart,
And crushed it into dust,
I was there with you.

I have always been there with you.
When you were united in true love,
To your best friend,
When you made a home,
For your family,
I was there with you.

I have always been there with you.
On that dark night,
On that quiet road,
When those lights,
Came around that corner,
I was there with you.

I have always been there with you.
In that white room,
With your family around you
As they all cried,
And said goodbye,
I cried as well.

I have always been there with you.
I let you cry on my shoulder,
As you said goodbye to your family,
But they could not hear you.
I wanted to answer your questions,
But all I could say was,
“Don't worry, Paradise is waiting.”

I have to say your poem brought out some deep emotion out of me. To say the least I enjoyed reading it, and it is beautifully written
