Charlotte was all smiles as she headed down to the pitch. It was a nice day out, especially compared to the weather for the last few matches of last season. It was a new school year full of new possibilities, plus a new broom. Charlotte knew her brother had a few concerns about quidditch this year, even though he never voiced it, but she had a good feeling. Maybe she'd even be first string. Besides, win or lose, it was more about having fun. After all, it wasn't like they were professionals. No one's salary depended on this.
Charlotte yawned and stretched deeply once the pair came to a stop at the pitch. "Good day everybody," she said brightly. She grabbed a form and began filling it out. Her eyes flicked over those who had gathered. She was familiar with most everyone but she noticed a boy, likely a first-year, whom she hadn't met yet dropping facts about hummingbirds. Once she finished the form and placed it down she moved toward the boy. "Hummingbirds are pretty cool," she said smiling. She wanted to make sure everyone felt welcome. "I'm Charlotte, nice to meet you."

Fiadh didn’t know what she was really doing other then trying something new. Yeah, that’s what this was. She’d signed up for the class and decided trying the sport make the most sense. Course she hadn’t played last year and she’d only cheered on the side lines. Also time to learn given she was only in second year at least. She’d have her friends Declan and Sebastian to cheer her on.
On the day of the tryouts Fiadh got ready, ate very little breakfast, and made her way down to the pitch. She wasn’t sure if she’d make the team or not, but figured it didn’t matter anyway. No, she’d put her best foot forward and try to get on the team. If not she’d play backup which was fine, the badgers could always use more members. Arriving on the pitch, she walked up to the group. Grabbed and filled out the form, she glanced at it. Chaser or Seeker, sounded about right. She honestly didn’t mind what position she’d play in so long as she could try and maybe even help. If Seb could do it so could she, Fiadh told herself as she fiddled with a few loose strands of hair. This would be fun,

Eddie looked over when some older kids joined their little group. They now officially had seven, but he was sure more were to come. After all, quidditch was a quite popular sport. There was even someone in the stands taking notes! After mentioning his fact about hummingbirds, one of the girls... maybe about his sister's age, said they were pretty cool. "Why yes, they indeed are. Did you know the smallest bird in the world is a type of hummingbird? It is called the Bee Hummingbird and it is approximately two inches long. Little guy weighs about as much as a pence coin." He nodded happily, glad to have someone else who liked birds!
It was then that the girl introduced herself with the same name as his sister! Eddie grinned a bit, eyes practically twinkling under his glasses. "My older sister is also named Charlotte. She is a third year Gryffindor. Perhaps you have met her?" If they had, wouldn't it be fun to know two Charlottes, who also knew one another? What could possibly be the odds of that? Well... he supposed he could find the class lists, then do the math to discern those exact odds...

Persephone was skipping down to the pitch. She couldn’t wait. She had always wanted to play quidditch since the first time she’d flown a broom (though flown was really a strong term considering it was about two feet off the ground and her dad was the one in control). She didn’t know whether or not she had a real chance of making the team but it was worth trying out. She had this image of her chasing the snitch down and making a dramatic game-winning catch. Just the thought made her fill with pride and excitement.
Persephone finally came to a stop, ending in a little hop. If nothing else came of today at least she’d have a chance to get some energy out.
With the utmost confidence, Persephone grabbed one of the tryout forms with a dramatic flourish. She started filling it out with a glance back at Archie who had been quietly following behind her the whole time.

Archie would readily admit that he was excited to be trying out for the quidditch team even though outwardly it was hard to tell. Especially if someone was comparing him to Persy. Anyone walking past her would assume she’d just won the lottery. Archie meanwhile was more caught up in observing not only her but the other Hufflepuff students who had gathered for tryouts. He wondered who was already on the team and who was making their first foray into the game like he and Persephone were.
So far he didn’t really know many of the people he saw, but then again, he’d yet to really make an effort to get to know his housemates. This might just be a good opportunity for that. Following his sister he (much more sedately) grabbed a form and began filling it in.

Honestly, Emily hated quidditch last year. Mostly. She liked being a part of a team. She had wanted to be a keeper. She had thought she would be better at that but she was a chaser. A first string chaser who was quite frankly bad at it. But she didn't want to let anyone down by not offering what she did learn to the team that year and her Dad bought her a fancy new broomstick which Emily did want to try out. Flying was fun and so was making friends. Her half brother Cai was right about popularity and quidditch team membership going together being true. She wasn't sure it helped her popularity but it did not hurt it.
She approached Mason and politely asked for a sign up sheet. As she looked around her, her long (still) pink hair braided behind her thumping in the wind, she noted a fair showing this year. That was good for Hufflepuff. Not exactly great for her odds on getting on the team. She was a really bad chaser.

Tàmhas had been watching tryouts all morning thus far. What was a couple hours for each team was an all-day process for him. He had been keeping notes and preparing to announce for the full season.... but something was amiss. He looked at his watch, then back to the pitch. The final team, his own, hadn't made it to the pitch. Oh no! Usually the captain showed up early to set up, but they weren't there. Okay, dang. He knew here he had two options. He could go get Professor Liu and potentially get the Olson brothers in trouble.... or he could just lend a hand. Grabbing the broom-shed key, he used a bit of magic to help carry everything out. At worst, he'd just have it set up when the Hufflepuffs arrived. Even if Mason was just running a few minutes late, at least no one would potentially get him in trouble. Setting out everything, Tàm placed out the sign-in forms, standing awkwardly there. Once the captains arrived, he could mosey back to the bench to continue notetaking.

Bieito was walking toward the quidditch pitch, glad that it was a really nice day. He was ready to play again, alongside the rest of his teammates and friends. Stepping out, he hadn't been expecting to see Tàmhas there, rather than the captains. "Hello Tàmhas. Are you joining us in the sky this year?" If he remembered correctly, the older teen had something of an aversion, but perhaps he was wrong. "Och guid laird na. Nae me. Nae ever." Well, that caused Bieito to laugh, anyway. He grabbed one of the application forms and filled it out, then stepped to the side to stretch while waiting on the rest of the team.

Eddie had to admit he had had quite a bit of fun on the quidditch team. Perhaps Charlotte was right to enjoy the sport. He had been gifted his own broom for second year, much like Charlotte had. He hoped to make the main team, but statistics dictated that he would likely be on reserve at least one more year. After all, two of the three current Chasers were the captainship of the team. He had gotten a few quidditch books over the summer to read and study, hoping to improve his skill in some small way. They had some chances to practice, so he hoped to be a bit better this year.
Walking onto the pitch, he was quite confused by the people there. Was that guy not the announcer? That accent definitely betrayed him, if naught else. "Good afternoon. Like the Elegant Trogon, we shall take glorious flight today." He... may have learned about a new bird with his grandparents over the summer as well. But it was fine, they had been beautiful! Eddie grabbed a form to write, carefully filling everything out before moving to do some stretches.

To be honest, Rey was a little nervous coming out here to tryout for her House Quidditch team. Until a few weeks ago, she’d never heard of the sport, literally, but apparently it was the game to play at Hogwarts, and she reasoned that if she really wanted to fit in at the school, she should at least take an interest in things her fellow witches and wizards did. Thankfully, she wasn’t going this alone, as she was getting coached by Finn, who played a… Seeker, and Linsey who was… Captain of the Ravenclaws.
Borrowing a spare broomstick, they two Greys took her up in the air when they had free time between classes, and before supper, and started giving her the basics of how the game was played. Bludgers scared her, the Snitch was dang small, and she wasn’t sure how somebody was supposed to catch the thing. She was told about the various positions, having it explained how the Seeker was the glory position on the team, Beaters fought off the Bludgers, while Keepers were like goalies in futbol, and Chasers flew about trying to score goals by tossing a lopsided ball through the goals.
Arriving at the pitch, the little redhead spotted a couple of older kids already there, including Tam, who was a Prefect, like Miss Linsey, and had the cutest pointed ears. “Um, hi, I didn’t know you were Quidditch coach too. It’s okay if I tryout too? I’ve been practicing all week with Finn and Miss Linsey,” she asked, as she collected a form and started to fill it out.

Fiadh was super excited about this years tryouts. She was ready to get this on the way. Downing food she rushed herself down to the pitch. Charlotte set off to the quidditch pitch, Noah at her side. She was excited to get back to quidditch. She had done…well enough last year as a seeker, but there was no doubt room for improvement. She was spurred by the image of that ever-elusive quidditch cup. Even the greatest seeker was far from a guarantee of winning the season, she’d seen that firsthand, but she’d try her best.
Coming on to the pitch she noticed they were suspiciously short of leadership and Tamhas of all people was putting out the signup forms. She didn’t know him well but she was fairly certain he wasn’t a fan of getting on a broom himself. She was fairly certain the Olsen’s weren’t dead. She’d at least seen both brothers at the sorting feast and probably a few times since. They’d probably be here eventually.
As soon as she came to a stop Charlotte began stretching. She stretched backward and then kept going until she was in a backbend on the ground. She glanced around at her fellow Hufflepuff, upside down, to make a count of who was there.
