This roleplay is based off of the best selling novel series The Luxe by Anna Godberson. This is an original roleplay set in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at the time, one of the top ten largest cities in the United States, booming with citizens such as the MacDougalls, Fishers, and many others. This city is teeming with people of all kinds, poor and rich alike but it is the rich that we will explore along with their scandals and secrets.

No Mary-Sues. The point of the roleplay is to explore the flaws and nitty grittys of high society in the 1800s - 1900s♥
This should go without saying: no godmodding or powerplaying. If there are character deaths or serious events involving other roleplayers, talk with them and myself first, please.♥
Don't just go off and do your own thing all the time. All of our characters should be tied together in some way.♥
I, as well as other guild/gaia mods, reserve the right to change anything about this roleplay as we see fit.♥

Olivia grew up in the high class neighborhood of Rudisill Boulevard, just round the corner from Old Mill and Ilsley Place across from the St. Mary's River located at Foster Park. Her father, a successful Architect is well known throughout the country, and thus is a very successful man. Her mother, Opal, is a faithful, prim and proper woman.

Though, he is a man who regardless, only speaks when he has something to say. He has been in love with Olivia since he and and aunt, the gardener, were employed by the Fishers when he was a young boy. They are treated well and paid at the same rate as the white employees, though, discriminated against by some.

The Society Pages
Tonight is the homecoming celebration party for a much missed and much adored pair, the Misses Olivia and Corinne Fisher. The lovely duo is rumoured to have won over the hearts of the Parisian Society with their very smiles, which have already won over the hearts of Fort Wayne from the time they could toddle.
It is rumored that the young Mr. Steere has been eagerly awaiting the return of the younger Miss Fisher, Corinne, since she left port last July 5th, 1894.

It seemed as if it had been aged since the girls had been in their own rooms. Though, one was never in her room alone--the girls had always been close and insisted on staying in the other's company even in some cases, to sleep. Their mother had often chastised them for this behavior, but their father, who liked to insist that he was a scientific man, said it was just in the nature of twins to have such a closeness and that nothing could be done about it. So, it was no surprise that the girls, whose rooms were conjoined by a Jack-and-Jill water closet, had insisted that they also share a dressing room so they could prepare for social events together. Tonight, of course, was no exception as they had not had this opportunity whilst away on the Paris countryside.
"I wonder..will Teddy be here tonight, Rinny?" The eldest (by about five minutes), asked her sister as her hair was curled and half put up.
Corinne smiled fondly, "I'm not sure. I should think so, his father is a good man and he's always been very close to us." The girl replied, she blushed faintly at the mention of her dear friend, Livi had always joked about the pair of them. Her sister had been keen and had not invested too much time in one boy at a time, thus making herself quite popular with them but not close as she was with Theodore. She smiled to herself briefly, wondering if he would indeed be there tonight or not...
It was not the first party either of the Fisher girls had hosted in their life time; however, it was the first of which they were regarded as Society Women--no longer as girls. Olivia reminisced on this fact triumphantly as she examined the many guests, some of which she had more intimate relationships with as close friends--others she wished to keep at a polite distance. Her sister, who had linked arms with her, was affectionately discussing the weather in Paris and how her experience had been, Corinne had always been the more friendly of the two, after all. Smiling the brunette girl tried to keep up with the conversation her sister was currently holding with Mr. Theodore Steere, who was the son of the famous Allen Steere, who owned the Tower Bank in the city.
The night was young and the company merry, yet the blue-gray eyed girl was feeling a tad bored--not that she could complain. The party was certainly one that would be written about in the News Sentinel's Society Pages the following morning. So, sipping her champagne, she allowed herself to adjust so the light from the crystal chandelier to fall upon her in the most advantageous manner, with her head held high as if she were a queen, showing off her long neck and beautiful red satin gown.
Corinne; at her sister's arm, was speaking in quite a friendly manner to the young Mr. Steere. She and the man had been close friend since they were quite young as their homes' backyards met in the middle. There were several nights where she could recall sneaking out of the house through the maids' quarters and out the kitchen to visit her friend; though, the visits were just as friends. They had often met at her family's carriage house and stayed up very late telling scary stories and talking to one another.
It was only just this past year that the light brunette girl had realized how much she really did care for the Steere boy. He was her best friend, besides her sister, of course, and she had grown quite fond of him--especially during her time away. Trying not make it obvious, the girl hoped to not be too obvious that she had worked hard to ensure she looked beautiful for him in her cream colored gown that she'd had made in Paris during her stay. Her sister's was from the very scandalous can-can town of Momont, just outside the city and in her mind, the gown reflected it.
