I'm in a duel at the moment. I have a Thor on the field and my opponent has a Dragunity card with an Aklys equipped to it. I have negated all monster effects. If i attack the equipped Dragunity monster will i be Thor be effected by Aklys' effect in the graveyard. I'm guessing yes, but i'm hoping that there is some wierd ruling that will save my nordic god.

Akyls is treated as an equip spell at the time of its destruction, not a monster. Its effect activates.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of Aklys safely or simply beat dragunity monsters? Its effect only works when it's destroyed and sent to the graveyard. Use something like ocean dragon Daedalus (that sends instead of destroys), or remove it from play or bounce the thing to break it.

Yeah but it's an easy summon that creates bigger monsters, it can also be easily summoned by other dragunities, bouncing it just recycles it's ability and it's unaffected by bottomless trap hole. Looking for techs and stuff.

Looking for techs and stuff. Like I said, if you use bouncing you can be rid of it quickly, but you can use this tactic once you have everything set up for OTK on that turn you bounce. There are other ways of removing from play aside from bottomless or DP, such as degenerate circuit (for bouncing combo), Trishula, or Caius. But like I said, you can also use cards that SEND to the graveyard, instead of DESTROYING.

Chain Disappearance DD Crow Skill Drain Karma Cut For now that's all I can think of that's usually side decked and or main decked.

chain burning land, dark snake syndrom, chained energy, and toll, and heart of clear water on a def monster, and pray you don't die first.
but seriously karma cut is useful. as is d.d. guide if you have a way to stop them from getting rid of him.

Side Deck. 3x Chain Disappearance 2x Pulling the Rug (much cheaper, but I recommend both) 2x Closed Forest. Chain Dis will wipe out all of their Aklyses for the rest of the game. It can also hit Phalanx, which prevents them from synchroing altogether. That card is the #1 thing to do to kill their deck. Pulling the rug is a one-time solution to Dux or Legionnaire causing problems with aklys/phalanx. Closed Forest ensures they won't pull their monstrosity of a field spell out on you. Effect Veiler, DD crow, so on and whatnot. They all prevent dragunity from getting started.

Siding Victoria seems to have some positives to it as well
