Hello everyone! Starting today (March 31), I will begin my epic quest of losing weight! It's long been a dream of mine but it's time for me to stop dreaming and just get to it! My motivation is simply because I fear that being this weight is limiting the things I can do right now. Only to say, I feel self-conscious doing everyday things because I am overweight. I'll post some pictures sometime soon too, although I cannot for the time being because my camera broke into a million pieces.
Anyway, onto the me I see today;
Height: about 5'6" (guesstimated it) Current Weight: around 200 lbs. Desired Weight: 130-150 lbs Age: 14
I desperately wish to be thinner in the thigh area. (I have thunder thighs v.v) as my upper body is thinner then the rest of me. If I could lose some weight off my chest it would be nice too, backaches are no fun.
My activity schedule is pretty simple, I'm looking at about two hours of exercising and walking a day due to my current scheduling. My big problem would be my picky eating. I don't eat vegetables, I don't eat most fruits, I don't eat most red meat, I don't eat nuts, and I kind of dislike drinking water. Now, I'm going to give these things a few shots, maybe my taste buds will have changed or something.
I'm super excited to get started! The new me will be absolutely fabulous and I know if I keep positive that I can achieve all my goals in no time! I look forward to seeing you all and supporting you in your goals as well. :3

It would be easier to name the ones I do like, actually. Which would be bananas, grapes, strawberries and apples. As for vegetables, I haven't tried many to be able to make a decision although if it's easy to stomach I could always try. smile
Haha, DDR is always a good thing.
Almost Poetic Tarfish My big problem would be my picky eating. I don't eat vegetables, I don't eat most fruits, I don't eat most red meat, I don't eat nuts, and I kind of dislike drinking water. Now, I'm going to give these things a few shots, maybe my taste buds will have changed or something. What fruits/vegetables don't you like? I could offer some flavoring options or dishes that might make them more palatable.
You also make me want to play DDR again. sad

You don't like any citrus fruits? O.o If you like sweet fruits but don't like the acid taste of oranges, there's kiwi fruits, which are like tart fruity (like strawberry) candies (like Runts, if you've ever tried them, minus the powdery aftertaste). They're solid but juicy, and I suggest eating them in slices (the hairy skin is inedible, by the way). The softer they are, the sweeter they are (and the less tart), so go for one with a little bit of give (but isn't completely mushy). They aren't technically citrus fruits, but they do offer an amazing amount of Vitamin C.
Aside from those, peaches, pears, cherries (highly recommended based on your preferences), watermelon, and plums are all well-liked common fruits you might want to try.
Tomatoes, corn, peas, potatoes, green beans, carrots, and lettuce are good vegetables for picky eaters that you can get anywhere.
I assume you've tried all of these before, though.

rinibun You can probably solve the problem by steaming veggies and using seasonings on them. I use garlic salt, oregano, and a bit of pepper most of the time. I reeeally like the garlic salt (it seems to keep fleas away from me as well), but I try not to over do it.
Thank you for the advice! I'll try that for a future meal! smile

That would be good for me to try tomorrow night, thank you for the advice! It'll really help! Especially with my lunch at school, which is typically the same every day, some variety would be nice.

phloid Almost Poetic (the hairy skin is inedible, by the way). Actually, the skin is definitely edible and I even prefer to eat kiwis skin on. Firstly, it's easier, you don't need to cut it up, peel it, or scoop out the fruit part. Also, I think the skin tones down the quite tart flavour. I find just eating a full kiwi alone can be pretty sour, the skin gives something to balance the sharp flavour and most importantly, there is actually a lot of nutrients found in the skin itself and it is where the greatest source of fibre comes from in a kiwi! Just saying! kiwi skins FTW!

Your comment froze my computer. ;_;
Really? O.o I had no idea. I mean, technically everything can be put in your mouth, so I could have figured. But I was always warned never to eat the part of the fruit that is discarded, because it is normally discarded for a reason. Due to its texture, I assumed it was due to being inedible (or at least uncomfortable coming out).
