Mkay, Char has been painting with Acrylics for about... five months? And in that time I've completed... four paintings and two that are still in progress. I just thought I'd post them here, to see what people think!

I've been sketching since I first picked up a red crayon before I could talk, so hey, I just like to work with my hands, is all.

This was my first attempt at painting ever, hence my boring decision of doing a piece of my favorite flower: A Hyacinth. It took me only a weekend, and I recently gave it to my mom for Christmas. ^-^

Sorry for the small size... This was my second go at using Acrylics, and I wanted to do something related to where I live. I'm in New England, US, and around here, Chickadees are seen a lot in the Winter. Hence, this painting. This was shipped off to my Grandma for Christmas. ^-^ This took longer, about two weeks, but that's cause I was lazy. xD

My 3rd painting, based off the Eminem iPod commercial. It's been edited since this photo, the shadow below him made fixed of that dumb hand shadow and made more subtle. Also more yellow details have been added to his seatshirt and hat. This took only a weekend, 21 hours!

I also finished a quick painting of a scene after Theadrid's funeral in The Two Towers, with the white flower opening in front of the grave. Hopefully I'll get that one up soon. ^-^

And I've got a comission on my easel, and the start of another painting of Boston's Zakim Bridge, that prolly won't be done anytime soon. xP Go hometown paintings!

Mkay, that's all for now, I really hope people will comment on this! Maybe I'll get some pencil sketches up soon too. ^-^

Howdy doo, I'm back with four more pieces I've done recently! We'll cut to the case, here they are!

This is the commission I was talking about, it's unfinished at the moment, but it's in process, coming slowly! My friend wanted something with red, black, and white, so this is what I have to far. I'm thinking of putting in some falling red rose petals, for the red, instead of the original idea I had, blood dripping down the legs.

Um. Yeah. This is the back of my English notebook, just a doodle I did in class one day. xD I'm working on the depth and shadows right now in sketches, so this was some practice. :>

I suppose if you know the song "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada, you'd recognize the lyrics. I dunno, I heard the song one day, and thought that lyrics were cute, why not make a piece on it? So since it's a dance song, I have two people dancing, cut out of constuction paper, and glued on a circle of constuction paper. The purple shadows are Sharpie, and the writing on the backround is Crayola colored pencil! Super simple thigns used to make this one! ^-^

This is another painting I did, taken from "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" at Thadrid's burial. I just have always liked that certain scene with the flower and I wanred to do a kinda of "unfinished" painting, and this one seemed just the right piece to use the tecnique on! Done in about two days. The medium was Acrylics, of course. >w<

I'd love to see what you can do with paints, they really are amazing to use....I thought they'd be super boring and such, but now I love them more than sketching! xP It's so much fun exploring with tones, color shades,a nd tecniques...

But the controling of paints can be somewhat frustrating at times. >.<

Ahh, I have some of those too, and I despise them! xD You're right, they're impossible. And they always leave funny marks on the paper or canvas. =

I'd like to try Oils though, but they're supposedly much harder...once you get your own technique down, controlling paints is easy, but mistakes blob up everywhere. xP
