I just feel that sometimes we forget how lucky we are and we tend
to complain about unnecessary problems. Maybe that we had a
fight with someone or having a bad hair day. We are all
definitely guilty when it comes to remembering to be grateful
for what we have. There are so many people out there who are
blind, deaf or paralyzed.

To the point, a friend of mine stood up in front of our class
today and said this one poem off the internet. Most of us had
tears in our eyes afterwards.

So I just suggest you take a few minutes to read it and maybe
think of all the positives in your life and why you should smile. [:

I like this a lot and agree 100% !
Not only though should you be thankful for your health but you should be thankful that you have a roof over your head and clothes to wear and food and things like computers. Too many kids these days don't have any of that.
If parents yell at you a lot or expect too much from you or whatever, as irritating as it is, you should be thankful that you have parents who care enough to pay attention to you.

I like what you said about the parents. Very true. Many children don't
have parents and older siblings are looking after them. Some never
met their parents or were abused. In fact, there are many slave
children and child soldiers out there. We really should be grateful.

SO sad.
i know i'm guilty of wallowing in self-pity from time to time.
but i'm still grateful for my life. i'm well-fed and my parents love me.

wow thats an amazing poem! very touching.
its things like these that help me keep my life in perspective. it could be alot worse than it is now.
every once in a while it can be healthy to get a terrible (but not permanent) injury. i recently got stung by a wasp and my left hand swelled up super huge and i could barely move it for days. i used to think it was basically useless because im right handed, when in fact i use it all the time. things like that really make you appreciate the little things in life, like th use of your left hand. luckily, i healed though :/
im very lucky to have my good friends and family, food, and a roof over my head.
