Forbidden: The Advanced list plus "Exodia the Forbidden One" is forbidden.
Combined: Duellists working in a team cannot use more than 3 of a card between all of their decks. The relevant ban list also applies to all of their decks combined.
/DECK BUILD......................................................................Constructed: Built prior to the tournament with any released cards.
Set: Built only from cards released in a single booster set. The booster set can be any unless specified.
/FORMATION......................................................................This is only used for 2-on-2 duelling tournaments.
Tag Team: Duellists form teams of 2 or more sharing 8000 Life Points. Team members share a single field, graveyard and removed from play zone. They have separate hands and decks. Team members may not confer about anything but the cards on the field. Teams take it in turns to make their moves with the next member taking control of the field after the opponents turn.

/METHOD...................................................................... Messenger: Duellists duel over a messenger. We recommend WLM/YIM.
YVD: Using the YVD software to duel.
Video Game: Select a version of the world championship games to duel with.
/PAIRINGS......................................................................Swiss: Duellists are paired against duellists with a similar amount of wins.
Single Elimination - Brackets: Only the winner continues. The pairings are decided at the beginning of the tournament and continue in that order.
Single Elimination - Random: Only the winner continues. The pairings for each round are random.
Melee: Duellists can duel anyone in the tournament as they please.
/TOURNAMENT POLICY..........FOR ALL TOURNAMENTS FOLLOW THE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT POLICY ALONG WITH THESE ALTERATIONS. /GAME RECORDS......................................................................Both duellists are required to keep a record of the duel in case of a conflict of opinion regarding the duel.
/OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE......................................................................Players are not allowed to give or receive assistance from anyone not directly involved in the game. This includes advice or hints from other players or spectators who are not involved with the game. This also includes notes written prior to the match, either by the player or someone else.
Judges can be directly involved in the game, and may answer rules questions, but they should avoid answering questions about in-game decisions that would give the player direct advice about the current game.
/TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE...................................................................... The structure, methods and any other variables in the tournament that were announced before the tournament cannot be changed or removed once the tournament has begun. Prizes cannot be changed or removed but prizes may be added before the finals.
/LEGAL SETS & PROMOTIONAL CARDS......................................................................Sets and cards are legal for play once they have been released in the TCG.
/MAIN AND SIDE DECKS...................................................................... Duellists must have decks containing no less than 40 and no more than 60 cards. Duellists may have a side deck of exactly 15 cards they can substitute with cards in their main deck and extra deck during their second and third duels in a match, as long as the side deck always consists of exactly 15 cards.
/GRAVEYARD...................................................................... A player is not allowed to shuffle or alter the order of his or her Graveyard in any way. A players Graveyard is public information, except in specific cases when a card effect (such as “Question”) prohibits a player from viewing the opponents Graveyard.
/SEARCH EFFECTS...................................................................... If a game effect instructs a player to retrieve a card from the Graveyard or search for a card in his or her Deck with specific parameters regarding which card that player may select (based on Level, card type, ATK/DEF, and so on), that player is required to reveal the card for which he or she searched to the opponent. Whenever a player reveals a card, he or she must show the entire card face to the opponent. If a player searches his or her Deck, he or she must shuffle it afterward.
/GAME LOOPS...................................................................... In the event that a game enters a loop, the player controlling the loop must demonstrate it once. That player then chooses a number, and unless the opponent wants to stop the loop at any time to play something in the middle, the loop goes through the chosen number of cycles.
/MATCHES...................................................................... In all tournaments a match is won by the first person to win 2 duels. There is no limit to the amount of duels that takes place in a match.
