skill drain wont negate gaia plates maintence cost. and it makes juju useless unlessed hes actually destroyed by battle (if he;s destroyed, his effect activate sin the grave instead of on the field). all in all, skill drain gets in the way of rock stun decks. though it wouldn't be a problem with guardian and sandman.

Skill Drain won't hit guardian, sandman, warrior, and boulder
so really it hurts them more then me
