The Bridge

The universe is not all of existence. Believe it or not there are tons of other universes out there. Some call them realms, dimensions, even realities. However, what they really are is planes of existence. Some are closer to each other than others, some are even devoid of all extraplanar connection. But like a bowtie, there is one place in the center that holds it all together. That place is the Bridge, a training ground of sorts. Who do they train? The heroes of all different planes. These heroes who will eventually align themselves with a different cosmic force: Good, Evil, Chaos, and Order. A new staff of teachers has been assembled, and the students are ready. But this year, the fate of the Bridge may be at stake...

The Existence

The Existence, as it is called is comprised of all the planes that are currently known of. Those that are more active, and contain more energy are called the "Higher" planes where those that are less in power are the "Lower" planes. At the bridge heroes across all planes come to learn more about their abilities, free from the constant warring of the four cosmic forces. No heroes are actually created in the Bridge, and must come from outside planes. ((or other rps, if you will))

The Powers

The Existence, including all planes operate on a level of physics that mere mortals cannot comprehend. By exploiting many of the laws, any organism, can, without the aid of any mechanical device perform "magic".

In addition to the use of magic, the alliances that one makes to any of the cosmic forces determine largely the powers of the being in question.

The Forces

Good: Favors positive energy and harmony with all of existence, using magic in conjunction with natural forces. Not all who walk this path are good in behavior, however. Elementals, chi wielders, and most biological based powers choose this path.

Evil: Uses negative energy, which bends the universe to the user's purposes, distorting reality and openly defying laws of physics. Though the force is called evil, those who follow it are not necessarily villains. Summoners, magicians, necromancers, alchemists, mutants, and higher grade forms of life follow this path.

Chaos: The embodiment of randomness and conflict. Power is drawn through contradictions in the universe (such as matter and antimatter). This path is constantly shifting, from good to evil, and to somewhere in the middle. Anybody, but especially reality manipulators walk down this ever shifting road.

Order: Structured and organized, those who follow the path of order hold society in high regard and make it a point to civilize the entire universe. While structure is being made by Order, Chaos is always there to tear it down. It is said that if Good is forming Order, then Evil is forming Chaos and vice versa. Both sides do not hesitate to use Good or Evil to further their plans. Anyone can follow the path of Order, but any power that involves creation is strongly aligned with it.
