My avatars face looks really weird..I tried to use grey so it'd match everything else; but that didn't work out too well. Any suggestions to make her face not look so odd?

Just as all the colors have different shades and hues, so does gray. Not all gray items match each other. Gray can be just as difficult to use.
I think your face is fine. I think that it's your shirt and pants that throw off the avatar. It's obvious that they come from a set. I'd suggest replacing either your pants or your shirt. If you want to keep both, you should add other items like skirts, vests, jackets, etc~ Try to disguise the pants and shirt a little bit.
Other than that, you need shoes. Your outfit looks incomplete since your avatar only has four items on and is shoeless.
Also, it might help if you used a smaller eye that didn't touch your eyebrow.
This is an example of what i mean when I say add more items to disguise your Ted and Dusky clothes. And what I mean by adding more items and shoes in general.
