Sakurai nodded, now feeling a little tired. "Yeah, I guess it's about time to sleep. Good night," he said, trying to suppress a yawn. He then walked away towards where the guest room was supposed to be.
Once he reached the room, he crawled into the bed and tried to calm his excited mind. Sakurai was slightly glad that he had gotten lost today. But how will he explain anything to his parents? They might not believe any story he might make up, and they most definitely won't believe the truth. What can he tell them?

Keichi watched his guest leave then turned his attention to the stairway before him. He really wanted to see what Sakurai said was at the top of the stairs. The spirit waited until the boy was out of sight and slowly tried the steps. The first two were easy but the third seemed like the hardest thing he'd done in his ghostly existance. The flames of the candelabra flickered and began to glow an eerie blue. Encouraged by his success at the third step, he tried another but was stopped as surely as if there was a wall there. He slammed his fist against the air that stopped him but apart from his hand stopping there was now sound. Keichi glared at the stairway even as he drifted back down to the landing. All right. So he couldn't go up this way, there was more than one staircase upstairs.
The boy's spirit drifted off to the main staircase, his candelabra drifting along in his wake. He was determined that he would make it up the stairs if it killed him. And since he was already tehnically dead he had nothing to lose. ((Sorry real life had me by the throat again))

That night, Sakurai dreamed of the day he would finally free Keichi from his ghostly form. He wasn't able to see how it happened, but somehow he saw Keichi return to his perfectly preserved body and sit up. That was all there was to Sakurai's dream.
It was disappointing, not knowing how exactly Keichi was able to return, but he knew he must have done something. Maybe his relative would know what to do and what had happened. There was no reason to not ask her. She was the superstition expert, after all.

Keichi stopped at the base of the main staircase. He knew that he probably wouldn't succeed but he'd be damned if he wasn't going to try. The spirit drifted up the stairs.
Not suprisingly, he was stopped at the servants level. He let out an exasperated sigh and drifted to the stairs that led up from the kitchen. The spirit spent most of the night trying to get up to the servants floor.

Sakurai woke up before he knew he was asleep, not that anyone would be aware of sleeping unless he or she woke up or are aware of a dream. It looks like today is the day to look for the relative, but first he would have to tell his parents he was still alive. He would have to make up a story while he was at it.
Sakurai was never really good at making up stories, so what the heck is he going to tell them? All that's going to result would be an endless argument between himself and his parents. Maybe he'll know what to do once he returned home.
