That every trainer starts out in the town that is conveniently located near the weakest gym leader in the region. It would suck if your level 5 chikorita had to face Clair and her lvl. 41 Kingdra for your first badge twisted eek

but what id love to see is that team rocket actually useing serious pokemons......i mean little mice COME on ...........im sorry but id personaly fight those my self if there "holding the town hostage".......its not worth my....oh say.....Gyarados's time.....villians need monsters. even the minions
